# Cancer

*A quiet reflective threshold stands apart from a clearly separate care setting*

A physical dis-ease that, in Bashar's framework, is not an attack from without but a creation reflecting the beliefs of the one experiencing it; the amount of power it appears to hold is directly proportional to the actual strength of the person, who could not otherwise perceive that much power in it. Bashar reframes the "capital C" of cancer as comedy and catharsis — a gate and doorway through which the old self may die so the new preferred self can be born, without the body having to physically die. By treating the condition as an opportunity to surface and change the underlying beliefs, one becomes the person in whose definition there is no longer a need for that tool.

## Disease as a reflection of belief

Bashar's starting premise is that physical reality is created by consciousness, so a disease is not an external invader but a manifestation of the beliefs the person holds — sometimes consciously, often through beliefs they have "tucked away" in what society calls the unconscious or subconscious mind. Those compartments, he says, are "convenient definitions for things you don't want to look at." The work is to find what message the disease is trying to deliver; once the message is understood and can be delivered another way, the disease is no longer needed.

This is why Bashar can say that the situations that arise — including illness — are "not there to show you that you are stuck or a failure; they are there to show you what the beliefs are you have, so that you can know what they are, so you can change them." A participant who had insisted she would not get cancer and then developed it is told that the outcome is not a failure of her knowing but evidence of how much power she has: she created the scenario, and she can create it another way.

## "I can't" and the energetics of dis-ease

A specific emotional signature is named in Above Sedona, where the being Lola is reported to have learned that "one of the reasons energetically, many people on your planet develop the disease known as cancer is because their energy is mostly, 'I can't, sir.' And when you can't, you develop dis-ease." The corrective is the opposite vibration: to allow, allow, allow unconditional love to come into all its forms "without insistence," so that there is no constriction and the system can support and fulfill all areas simultaneously.

The same session with a participant named Margo frames the group's response as unconditional-love support: see the person as a being of energy immersed in "clear liquid light," and remind them that they are an aspect, a facet, of All That Is. The premise is not that the visualization replaces treatment but that the recognition itself is the primal energy of creation and is what bolsters the person's own recognition of it.

## Capital C as comedy and catharsis

The most distinctive reframing Bashar offers is linguistic. If you insist on thinking of cancer with a capital C, he says, "at least let the C stand for comedy, and also for catharsis. It is a gate and a doorway to walk through, so that in one sense you will recognize that you as the person you have been will, in a sense, die. But you do not have to physically die to be born as the new person you prefer to be." The condition becomes a ritual of transformation: the old self dies symbolically, the new preferred self is born, and the body does not necessarily have to die for that birth to occur.

This connects to Bashar's broader point about confidence and knowingness. He rejects the framing that a diagnosis "breaks your confidence": "Knowingness is knowingness," a foundation rather than a fragile wall. The size of the challenge that appears is "directly representative of the actual strength you have to deal with it" — you cannot perceive a problem larger than your actual capacity to meet it. On this view the magnitude of the disease reflects the magnitude of the being who created it.

## Disease as a chosen growth experience

Bashar goes further than most healing frameworks in insisting that disease is sometimes a deliberately chosen experience. The title exchange of Many Individuals Attract The Disease For Their Own Growth And Learning makes the point bluntly: "sometimes an individual will attract themselves to an experience of a disease because that is actually one of the strongest experiences they can create for themselves to grow in the way that they wanted to. So even though it is possible that many people wish to transform the idea of a disease, many people actually do not because it actually serves the theme they are exploring."

The same session asserts that "there have been cures for cancer on your planet for decades," and that "every individual will attract themselves to what they need." This is not a treatment recommendation — Bashar does not name or endorse any specific cure — but a statement about why different people attract different modalities and why the same modality can work for one person and not another.

## Early death and chosen acceleration

When a participant's friend died of cancer at 32, Bashar frames the timing as chosen rather than tragic: the soul was "accelerated to the point where she could accelerate herself to another level, to be of assistance in the way she agreed to be of assistance to those individuals still physical." He adds that "many individuals who choose to accelerate themselves in life, if there is going to be any exploration of negativity or pain, choose to accelerate it rapidly so they will get it all out of the way. The next life this individual has, if she chooses to live again, will be one of complete and absolute ecstasy." The soul, he says, is hanging around to function as a spiritual guide for her children.

## Practical implications

The practical implications in these sessions are framed entirely within Bashar's metaphysical system and carry hard boundaries. First, none of this is medical advice: the sessions do not diagnose, treat, or predict cancer, and they do not endorse any specific therapy, diet, or cure — when "cures for cancer" are mentioned it is to make a point about attraction, not to recommend a modality. Clinical diagnosis and treatment remain medical matters, and the metaphysical framing here is complementary to, not a substitute for, professional care.

Second, within that boundary, the sessions offer a way of relating to a diagnosis rather than a way of curing one. The suggestions are: treat the disease as a message and ask what belief it surfaces; treat "I can't" as the vibration to release and "allowing" as the vibration to strengthen; treat the magnitude of the challenge as evidence of your actual capacity, not as proof of failure; and treat the capital C as comedy and catharsis — a doorway the old self can walk through so the new self can be born, whether or not the body changes course. The framework also explicitly avoids judging someone who does not transform the condition: the teaching is that the experience may be the one the soul chose for its own growth, and that judgment either way is out of place.

## Representative passages

The situations that happen in your life are not there to show you that you are stuck or a failure; they are there to show you what the beliefs are you have, so that you can know what they are, so you can change them. […] You are peeling yourself like the proverbial onion. The amount of the idea that you think you must now deal with is directly representative of the actual strength you have to deal with it. So lighten up. You can laugh it completely away. If you insist upon thinking of the idea of cancer with a capital C, at least let the C stand for comedy, and also for catharsis. It is a gate and a doorway to walk through […]. But you do not have to physically die to be born as the new person you prefer to be.— Bashar,

There have been cures for cancer on your planet for decades. Every individual will attract themselves to what they need. Understand this as well: sometimes an individual will attract themselves to an experience of a disease because that is actually one of the strongest experiences they can create for themselves to grow in the way that they wanted to. So even though it is possible that many people wish to transform the idea of a disease, many people actually do not because it actually serves the theme they are exploring.— Bashar,

One of the reasons energetically, many people on your planet develop the disease known as cancer is because their energy is mostly, "I can't, sir." And when you can't, you develop dis-ease. The idea, again, is to treat yourself to the unconditional love that you deserve by allowing, allowing, allowing, that love to come into all its forms […] without insistence and allow there to be no constriction, therefore it can support and fulfill all arenas, all areas simultaneously, harmoniously, expansively.— Bashar,

Each and every one of you, together and individually, have absolutely every single thing you need to change, as you would call it, to eradicate any formation, any manifestation of disease. You have everything you need within yourselves and within your environment. Take it all in as suggestions, reflections, advice to look at something from a different point of view […], but decide for yourself what is true for you, and then have the face to act in that direction.— Bashar,
