# Children

In Bashar's teaching, children are not unfinished adults to be molded into shape but individuals — often old souls playing out past-life (simultaneous-life) agreements with the families they are born into. What looks like stubbornness or fear beyond common sense in a child can be the working-out of such an agreement, and very often the child is reflecting the parents' own beliefs right back at them, so the work is the parents' self-examination as much as the child's behavior. The practical move Bashar repeatedly recommends is to ask the child why it does what it does, and then listen.

## The new children remember more of themselves

Bashar describes many children now being born as not just a new generation but, in his wording, "a different species" — children who do not forget as much of themselves as previous generations did. They remember what the acquisition of knowledge is supposed to be about, and they react against the systematized, formalized, rigid structure of schooling with an automatic gut response, "because they simply cannot bring themselves to believe that you're actually telling them that this is your system of education."

This means a child's resistance to school is not always defiance. It can be the clash between a child who already knows learning is meant to be creative and joyful and a system that presents information in a way the child finds inefficient or distasteful on a gut level.

## Past-life carryover and family agreements

A child's intense, specific reactions are sometimes traced to carryover from another life. In one exchange, a godson's look of terror at school drop-off was connected to repercussive experiences in an ecclesiastic setting in another life — strict punishment for not toeing the party line of a belief system — alongside a militarized past with the godparent. The child, on a gut level, was described as asking: "Am I going into military training again? ... I am not supposed to don armor in this life, and yet here you are asking me to fall in line to be one of the good soldiers of learning."

Bashar's framing is that the family association is an agreement the soul made — the child and the adult chose each other to work through specific energies. The adult's role is not to interrogate the child about past lives but to recognize that the present behavior may be the surface of an agreement that asks the adult to respond differently than the past-life dynamic did.

## Tools to give children

When a parent asks what tools to give children during the transformational age, Bashar names three: the understanding that they are the creators of their reality, access to their imagination, and the ability to recognize the consequences of choices and belief systems. A child given those tools is "fully equipped to handle any circumstance or situation in their life in exactly the way that they need to." The corollary is direct: the parent is asked to look honestly at whether they have given those tools or passed along their own fears.

The recommendation for fear that has already been passed on is not to invalidate the fear but to offer the child options that are not fear-based — "to simply understand that if they balance all choices as equally valid, they will ... experience their power to choose what it is they prefer." This keeps the child's agency intact rather than overriding it.

## Creative play over rigid instruction

For a child carrying a rigid-past-life expectation (the "whip," the drill instructor), Bashar's prescription is creative play at home — the adult functioning as a flexible, clever tutor who helps the child expand how to approach information, solicits the child's creativity, and lets the child absorb information in their own way, at their own pace, through their own interests. The point is to show the child that adult supervision this time does not have to be militarized, that the old "drill instructor" has loosened up. "A crusade for enlightenment through self-expression, self-empowerment, and freedom of choice," rather than unity through homogenization.

## Practical implications

The practical moves the transcripts recommend to adults are concrete:

Ask the child why it does what it does, and then listen — the child is often either working out an agreement or reflecting the adult's own beliefs.

Examine what you have passed along — tools for self-creation, imagination, and recognizing the effects of beliefs and choices, or your own fears — and choose which to keep passing.

Offer non-fear-based options without invalidating the fear; treat all choices as equally valid so the child can experience their own power to choose.

At home, balance an inflexible school environment with creative play that lets the child learn through their areas of interest, at their pace, in their way.

The teaching does not direct parents to ignore schooling, medical, or psychological care for a child. It addresses the meaning-layer of parenting — how the adult's definitions and responses shape the child's experience — and leaves structural interventions (school choice, professional support for a child's distress) to the adults responsible for the child. A child's terror at school that is rooted in a past-life pattern is still, in this life, a child in distress who may need both the meaning-layer reframing and ordinary support.

## Representative passages

Many children being born on your planet now are, in a sense, not only just a different generation, they are a different species. They will not forget as much of themselves as your past generations have. ... Many of them will have that automatic response and or reaction because they simply cannot bring themselves to believe that you're actually telling them that this is your system of education.— Bashar,

This is your opportunity to understand that you can function as a mentor, as a teacher, for the child, to in clever ways and creative ways, help the child expand their sense of how to approach information and help solicit their creativity in the ways that they believe information can be best applied in their areas of interest. ... A crusade for enlightenment through self-expression, self-empowerment, and freedom of choice.— Bashar,

If you have given them the tools to understand that they are the creators of their reality, and you allow them access to their imagination, and allow them to understand the consequences of choices and belief systems and definitions, then they will have all the tools they need to be fully equipped to handle any circumstance or situation in their life in exactly the way that they need to.— Bashar,
