# Communication > Communication is fundamentally vibrational and action-based rather than word-based. Words are symbols you have agreed to give meaning to; they do not carry meaning of their own. In your society, words are presently out of alignment with action, so what people do is their real communication, regardless of what they say. The long arc of human evolution is toward communication through vibrational tone and action alone, eventually eliminating words altogether — a trajectory already lived by fully telepathic civilizations. Mastery of communication, like any art, is more about what you leave out than what you put in: implied context makes a message land, where over-defining every detail bludgeons it to death. ## Words are symbols; action is the real communication The most disorienting claim Bashar makes about communication in your society is that words, as currently used, are not actually doing the communicating. They are symbols to which you assign meaning; the meaning lives in the assignment, not in the word. What actually communicates is action. Right now in your society, words are really not a form of communication. Actions are, but not words. Words at this time are not aligned with action very often in your society. Therefore, understand that this is because words are simply symbols and that the idea is that you give the meanings to the words, they don't have their own built-in meaning… But the actions, the actions that people do are the direct communication, are the real words. No matter what they say, what they do is what they're actually saying. This is also why Bashar's own communication through the channel is described as a translation, not a speaking. He sends pulses of consciousness; the channel's brain translates them into the modulation called language, in the same way a telephone re-renders a voice into electronic media and back into acoustic media. Communication comes to be carried by vibrational tone and action, and eventually by action alone. What you will ultimately be doing in the exploration of rearranging words is the elimination of the words altogether, and simply allowing yourself to render your communication in vibrational tone and action, and then eventually in action alone. The picture Bashar offers of where this leads is a fully telepathic society — his own. The first thing you would notice is that it is very quiet. People move through spaces without sound; if there are buildings, there are no signs, because everyone already knows what is in any structure. Clear communication, with all parties involved in all relationships is of paramount importance so that you can clearly understand what the reason in the reflections in the relationship are actually for rather than going off of assumptions based on societal understanding. The same exchange distinguishes communicating a story's essential learning from disclosing every personal detail without agreement. You can arrange what needs to be arranged so as not to cross the barriers of what might be inappropriate without an agreement with the individual, and still capture the essence of your story in terms of what people actually need to understand from it. Mentality, Bashar says, is not a separate thing that needs to be translated into physical reality; it is already the physical translation of non-physical consciousness. As a non-physical being, to express yourself physically you create an electronic matrix (the colloquial term is brain); this electromagnetic matrix interacting with itself gives rise to mind, mentality, and the vibrations you call words. You are fundamentally a non-physical consciousness… Translating yourself as physical reality means you create an analogy for the vibrations that exist within your non-physical consciousness. This analogy in physical terms is what you call mentality… What you call mentality already is the physical translation. Words, then, are the furthest, most condensed end of a translation chain that begins as non-physical consciousness, becomes an electromagnetic matrix (brain), becomes mentality (mind), becomes thought, and only then becomes language. Each step is a modulation.
