# Creation & Story

*An open unmarked field journal lies beside a shoreline path whose stone course can be rearranged*

The beginning and end of every story happens within creation — and the very word "creation" comes from "story," since no story can begin without "once upon a time." Time and space are the foundations of story, and the crystalline template — the template reality — is the paper you write your story upon, letting it trickle down into physical manifestation. Everyone is a storyteller, storywriter, and story-liver sharing a unique story so that All That Is can know itself; no one's story is more true than another, all stories are valid, and all stories change.

## Story as the structure of creation

Bashar treats "story" not as a metaphor for creation but as its architecture. Because a story requires time and space to unfold, and because physical reality is the realm of time and space, every lived experience takes the shape of a story by necessity. The "call to adventure" that opens any story is the same call that opens any act of creation: answer it, and "even though it may lead you into the unknown, [it] will always be that which reveals more of who you are."

This framing is why Bashar can describe consciousness itself as the substance every thing is made of: "Every idea is a projection, a diversification, a formulation, a rearrangement of consciousness." A physical object, a song, a question each contain consciousness, though only the self-aware focal point — the being who experiences them — needs to express self-awareness. The stories those objects appear in are the ways consciousness diversifies itself so it can be known.

## The storyteller, the writer, the liver

The monologue names three roles each person plays at once. You are the storyteller (the one who imagines the tale), the storywriter (the one who authors it through choice and belief), and the story-liver (the one inside the tale, experiencing it as it unfolds). The three are not sequential phases but simultaneous functions of the same being. To live "with integrity, without expectation, in the knowledge you will be supported as you need to" is the discipline that keeps the three roles coherent — the story you tell is the story you write is the story you live.

This is also why Bashar refuses the framing of "pursuing understanding." When a participant asks whether they must pursue understanding in order to find it, he answers that the very idea of pursuing creates the time and frustration in which understanding seems absent: "When you know you have it already, then there is no need to pursue." The story is already being told; the work is to recognize it, not to chase it.

## Stories are valid and changeable

Several consequences follow from treating lives as authored stories. First, "no one's story is more true than another" — if there were only one story there would only be one person, and each being's story is "the story they need to tell so that all that is may know itself as fully as it can." Some stories are comedies, some are tragedies, some are love stories, some are stories of pain and battle and strength; all are valid, and all change. The end of one cycle and the beginning of a new — cycles upon cycles — is the rhythm of story.

Second, because stories change, the being who lived an old story is not bound to keep living it. Earth History makes the same point about identity itself: "Since you are a new person, you have a completely new history. Nothing that you no longer desire nor prefer to affect you from the past has to affect you from the past if you truly live in the new presence of yourself."

Third, the story of limitation is itself a chosen story. Forgetting opens with "the story of gods who chose the game of limitation and forgot that they were its creators"; remembering is recognizing that you are the creator, that every experience is a reflection of belief, and that no outside authority is needed to validate your knowing. The story of separation was authored, and it can be revised.

## Creation without pursuit

The teaching's practical inversion is that creation does not happen by chasing a result. Bashar's formula across these sessions is to act on what excites you without insisting the result arrive in any particular form — a stance treated at length in the expectancy-vs-expectation topic. Within the story frame this shows up as: write the story by being the person in the vision, then let the plot deliver itself in its own way. The Essassani, Bashar says, illustrate a late chapter of this principle — they have evolved beyond physical procreation so that "if we wish a new life form, the different beings create an energy bubble in which a new life form simply automatically manifests." Creation there has become direct authorship, unmediated by the older machinery of physical reproduction.

## Practical implications

Three implications follow for a learner working with this material. First, regard your life as an authored story you are simultaneously telling, writing, and living — when a circumstance feels imposed, ask what belief authored it and what new authorship would revise it; Bashar's teaching is that circumstances reflect the beliefs of the author, not the power of the prop. Second, treat understanding as already present rather than as a distant possession to chase: the frustration of pursuit is itself a story-element that the pursuit generates, and dropping the pursuit does not drop the understanding. Third, let other people's stories be valid without making them yours: "all stories are valid, and all stories change" cuts in both directions — it grants legitimacy to stories unlike your own, and it releases you from any story you no longer prefer to live.

The metaphysical scope of this topic is large — the sessions treat physical reality, time, and identity as story-structures. None of that is presented as verified physics; it is Bashar's framing, and a learner can work with the practical guidance (authorship, revision, dropping the chase) without adopting the cosmological claims.

## Representative passages

Beginning and end of story happens within creation. Creation. Creation. The very word, the very notion, comes from story. The very beginnings of your story could not happen without once upon a time. Time and space are the very foundations of story. And the crystalline portal, the crystalline structure, the crystalline matrix, the template reality, that crystalline template is what you play your story upon. It is your paper, it is the pages upon which you write your story and allow them to trickle down into your physical material experience of manifestation. You are all storytellers, you are all storywriters, you are all story-livers, living your own story, alive in your story, and sharing your stories with all others who are also sharing theirs.— Bashar,

Needs are created. When you feel you must pursue understanding, then you may have a tendency to become frustrated. Because the idea of pursuing gives you enough time to create the idea of frustration. When you know you have it already, then there is no need to pursue. You will always bring yourself exactly where you need to be. Therefore, what are you pursuing?— Bashar,

Every idea is a projection, a diversification, a formulation, a rearrangement, if you will, of consciousness. Consciousness is in a sense what every thing is made of. […] They contain consciousness, but have no need to express self-awareness. […] They are extensions of you. You are the self-aware focal point of consciousness.— Bashar,
