# Creative Conflict

In Bashar's teaching, "creative conflict" names the constructive challenge through which a person stretches, grows, and gains perspective — distinguished sharply from the destructive conflict the sessions more often say you can remove from your life. The opening of the Creative Conflict session is spent almost entirely on making this distinction explicit, because Bashar recognizes that the same English word is being used for two very different things, and the confusion masks the teaching.

## Constructive challenge versus destructive conflict

When Bashar says you can live a life free of struggle and pain, he means the destructive forms of conflict: confusion, lack of clarity, suffering, pain, feeling lost, succumbing to victimization, and giving your power away.

Removing those is the work. What is not removed — and what no civilization ever loses — is the constructive, character-building challenge that creates the background against which you can see how far you've come and that lures you into expressing yourself more fully.

Bashar is explicit that this is not a life of boredom. The removal of destructive conflict does not mean sitting around doing nothing, experiencing no challenges or change. Constructive challenge is what makes every story a story — a perspective that shifts — and what turns what first appears as an obstacle into an opportunity that becomes part of your joy rather than an impediment to it.

This is presented as an unavoidable structure of expansion: you must have thresholds that challenge you in order to expand, stretch, grow, and become more of yourself, and no civilization known to Bashar has lost that kind of challenge.

## Avoidance, preference, and where the conflict actually lives

*A loose fiber stops at a closed boundary gate while its other end rests in an open reflection pool*

A later exchange in the same session sharpens the distinction by looking at avoidance. A participant describes avoiding someone he finds dishonest in business. Bashar first validates that this can be a clean recognition of vibrational incompatibility rather than negative avoidance — simply the recognition that you are incompatible vibrationally, and not butt-heading to manufacture challenge.

> — Creative Conflict (qa-9), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/creative-conflict)

The complication the participant raises is that the avoidance itself generates negative feelings. Bashar redirects this back to the inner work: if you understand your vibrations are incompatible and you are making a conscious choice to behave accordingly, what definitions within you would require that you feel negative about that? The conflict is being generated within — by definitions that say the only way to generate challenge in your life is to come head-to-head with contrary situations to the degree of violating your own preferences.

> — Creative Conflict (qa-9), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/creative-conflict)

Once you check whether your avoidance is truthful preference or unexamined reaction, you can stop using incompatible people as your source of constructive challenge; other avenues will carry it.

> — Creative Conflict (qa-9), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/creative-conflict)

This reconnects to the broader session theme. The participant who attributes a persistent lack of healing to "negative entities" is shown to be using an external explanation as a self-fulfilling loop — giving away power and then looking for what took it.

> — Creative Conflict (qa-4), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/creative-conflict)

And a repeated fearful behavior is recast as a choice rather than a pattern: once you know you're doing it, it is no longer a pattern but a choice, and the question becomes why you keep choosing it.

> — Creative Conflict (qa-5), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/creative-conflict)

In each case, destructive conflict (suffering, victimization, power-given-away) is what is to be released; constructive challenge (looking honestly at the definition behind the choice) is the means of releasing it.

## Practical implications

Do not confuse the removal of destructive conflict with the loss of all challenge. The sessions distinguish confusion, suffering, victimization, and power-given-away (to be released) from the constructive challenge that supports growth and never disappears.

> — Creative Conflict (qa-1), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/creative-conflict)

When avoiding an incompatible person or situation, check whether the avoidance is truthful recognition of preference or an unexamined reaction. Truthful preference does not need butt-heading to be valid.

> — Creative Conflict (qa-9), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/creative-conflict)

Notice when the conflict you feel is generated within by a definition that says challenge must come from head-to-head friction. Once that definition is examined, constructive challenge can arrive through other avenues.

> — Creative Conflict (qa-9), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/creative-conflict)

Treat obstacles first as creative material — what Bashar calls "the unexpected that is judged to be something that doesn't belong" — rather than as interruptions.

Apply the same discrimination inward: a "negative entity," a repeated fear, or an apparent block is something to inspect as a choice or definition rather than as a power outside yourself.

## Representative passages

Creative and constructive conflict is what we usually refer to when the word in your language challenge comes up. You must have thresholds that challenge you in order to expand, to stretch, to grow. We are only talking about removing confusion, lack of clarity, suffering, pain, feeling lost or succumbing to victimization, or giving your power away. We are not taking away creative, constructive challenge.— Bashar,

In that sense, it is not the negative form of avoidance. It is simply the recognition that you are incompatible vibrational. You don't have to butt heads in order to create constructive conflict in your life. But check to make sure your avoidance is not negative and not representative of a simple truthful recognition of preference.— Bashar,

That person cannot remove anything that is connected with your process. Only you can. They can help, they can suggest, they can work to suggest a creative energy or a frequency that would represent your inability to interact with negative entities, but they cannot remove them, only you can.— Bashar,

A habit is something that you do that you don't know you're doing. Once you know you're doing it, it's not a pattern. The pattern's gone. It's a choice if you keep doing it. The question is, why do you keep choosing it? Knowledge erases momentum and inertia.— Bashar,
