# Death and Transition

Bashar describes death not as an ending but as a shift of perspective — a turning of consciousness to view from another angle while remaining aware of itself. Across these sessions the teaching is consistent: once you exist, you exist; non-existence does not exist, so consciousness cannot travel to it. What looks like loss from inside physical reality is treated as a change of relationship, not an absolute absence. The sessions are also explicit that this view is not meant to invalidate grief.

## Death as a shift of perspective

Asked directly what happens to consciousness when the body dies, Bashar frames death as continuous with life rather than opposed to it. What you call death is simply another viewpoint: you have shifted your focus, shifted your perspective, turned 180 degrees in another direction, and are now viewing from another viewpoint. It is like stepping through a door to another room. You are still conscious of yourself; you are still aware of your consciousness.

The image extends to a hill-and-valley analogy. From the hilltop you can see all the inhabitants of the valley, whereas from the valley you see only the valley and not what lies on the other side of the hill. Both the hill and the valley are part of life; the difference is the scope of the perspective.

The transition, in this framing, is an expansion of view — not a deletion of the viewer.

## Existence cannot become non-existence

A second session states the underlying axiom with equal directness. Nobody really dies; you transform into another form. Once you exist, you exist; you can't not exist. By definition, non-existence doesn't exist, so you can't go there.

The teaching rests on the logical point that anything you can label or conceive — even "nothing" — is already something, already part of existence. Therefore consciousness, having arisen, has nowhere outside existence to go.

## Loss reframed, but not denied

Bashar is careful to distinguish this view from indifference. Grief, sorrow, and sadness are not invalidated; whatever feelings you choose to have are respected, and they are in no way less than any other response. The teaching offers not a demand to stop grieving but a different relationship to what was lost — the way you would feel differently about a misplaced object once you understood where to find it.

The reframing is that nothing is ever actually lost. Even when you are no longer interacting with someone physiologically, the relationship can still be contacted and used in a positive and constructive way. The situation is analogous to being told where the misplaced object is rather than believing it is gone forever; the difference is not in the circumstance but in whether you know a connection is still possible.

## Guilt after a death

When a grieving spouse believes she is responsible for her husband's death because she "nagged him," the response is blunt and structural. Bashar first notes that all deaths are chosen in the relevant sense, then zeroes in on the guilt itself as the first thing to release: "Give it up. Give it up. Give it up. Shift gears."

> — Easing The Pain Of Death And Loss (qa-6), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/easing-the-pain-of-death-and-loss)

The teaching treats self-incrimination as a closed door that blocks the very communication the bereaved is asking about — only when she is capable of relaxing can the channel open again.

## Death can expand perception

One striking claim is that a death close to you can open dimensional doorways. When a loved one transitions, your love stretches you after them; you expand your sensory apparatus to find them, and in doing so you may feel a heightened, magical quality in the air and a felt presence in the hours and days after the death. This expansion is described as one of the things that is exciting about the idea of death, especially of ones close to you.

> — Easing The Pain Of Death And Loss (qa-12), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/easing-the-pain-of-death-and-loss)

The same session is careful about how the expansion is integrated. Bliss and ecstasy are not to be pursued by checking out of the environment; the work is to infuse that expanded feeling more deeply into your surroundings rather than using it as an escape. The example of the panther — totally intertwined with its environment while experiencing total bliss — is offered as the symbol of the lesson: be more present, not less.

## Practical implications

Treat death as a perspective shift, not a deletion. The framing is that consciousness continues aware of itself after physical death; the change is in viewpoint, not in existence.

> — Creators2 (qa-5), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/creators2)

This is a metaphysical teaching, not a factual claim about an afterlife to take on authority.

Allow grief without identifying loss as absolute. Feelings are not invalidated; the option offered is to relate to the changed relationship as still contactable, not as gone forever.

> — Easing The Pain Of Death And Loss (qa-1), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/easing-the-pain-of-death-and-loss)

Release guilt as a separate step. Self-blame after a death is treated as a closed door that blocks perception and communication. The first practical move is to give up the guilt and shift gears.

> — Easing The Pain Of Death And Loss (qa-6), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/easing-the-pain-of-death-and-loss)

Notice any expansion of perception. If you sense a heightened quality or a presence after a loss, the teaching frames it as a real stretching of your senses toward the one who transitioned. The integration is to bring that expansion into your environment rather than use it to leave.

> — Easing The Pain Of Death And Loss (qa-12), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/easing-the-pain-of-death-and-loss)

Hold the logic lightly. "Once you exist, you exist" is offered as a logical axiom, not a doctrine. The practical value is in how the framing changes present-moment relationship to those who have transitioned.

## Representative passages

What you term to be death is no different than life. It's simply another viewpoint. You have shifted your focus, shifted your perspective, turned 180 degrees in another direction and are now viewing from another viewpoint. It's like stepping through a door to another room. You are still conscious of yourself. You are still aware of your consciousness.— Bashar,

No, not really, you just transform into another form. Once you exist, you exist. You can't not exist. By definition, non-existence doesn't exist. So you can't go there.— Bashar,

Nothing is to us ever lost, and always can be utilized, in a sense, can be contacted in a positive and constructive way, even though you may not be interacting with the individual physiologically anymore in death, death in the breakup of a relationship.— Bashar,

You are feeling dimensional doorways opening because you are stretching your senses in a sense to find them, which is one of the things that is exciting about the idea of death, especially of the idea of ones close to you, because their transition to the spirit side in some ways because of your love forces you to stretch after them and expand your sensory apparatus.— Bashar,
