# Death

In Bashar's teaching, death is not annihilation but a transition — a change of state from physical to non-physical experience. The sessions tagged here treat death as continuous with life rather than its opposite: consciousness does not end, relationships continue in a different form, and the timing of departure is chosen rather than imposed. The framing is metaphysical and is not a substitute for grief support, medical care, or end-of-life guidance from qualified professionals.

## Death is expansion, not ending

The core reframing is that death is the opposite of what your personality structure assumes. Because of thousands of years of ritualization and the lived experience of separation, the personality assumes death means annihilation. You mourn because you think it is the end of your identity, when in fact it is the expansion into more of yourself.

This reframing inverts the usual scale: physical reality, in a sense, is more like death than death is, because in physical reality you place so many limitations on yourself. From the spirit point of view, physical reality is the more dead-like state.

On Bashar's own planet, when someone dies they celebrate — they are still in communication with that being; there really is no disconnection.

## Consciousness does not end; relationships continue

Across these sessions, the continuity of consciousness is the constant. When someone dies they do not go anywhere; you can still sense the relationship and the consciousness. Leaving the physical body is simply a change of clothes, so to speak.

Consciousness never dies; the person exists in a different, less dense state. The relationship does not end, though it takes on a different flavor.

Communication across that boundary is also presented as normal. In one session, a crossed-over partner is described as functioning in the spirit world for a while as a kind of ferryman — helping the recently de-physicalized become comfortable with crossing, even appearing in a big yellow cab saying "get in, I am giving you a lift." The joy he sends back to the living may translate in physical reality in a sexual or felt way, even if it is not experienced exactly that way from the spiritual side.

## Timing is chosen, not imposed

The sessions insist that death occurs within perfect timing. When someone finishes what they chose to do in physical life and moves on, they are leaving in exactly the timing that they chose and that you agreed to.

The grieving that survivors feel is reframed with care: generally the grieving comes from feeling like you are being left behind — you are actually mourning for yourself.

When you experience polar opposites simultaneously — freedom and sadness, celebration and loss — you are at the center of your power of creating the reality you experience. The instruction, in that state, is to live joyfully, fully, with imagination, creativity, and trust in the definitions you prefer.

## The immediate post-death experience

Asked what happens after we die, Bashar describes it as a waking-up. Most individuals will feel it as if they are waking up from a dream, and the idea of the physical life no longer carries the same degree of importance. You wake up and suddenly remember who you are and that you are having this physical dream.

> — Accelerating Et Contact (qa-17), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/accelerating-et-contact)

In non-physical reality there are different gradations in which you can experience things that feel physical even though you are no longer physical; what you imagine and think is almost instantaneously created. It is even up to you to return, in a sense, to the life you just left and continue on from where you left off. Until you make the choice to actually go all the way into non-physical reality, you are given the choice to simply go back and pick up where you left off.

A separate question about someone who has done harm receives a sober answer: most likely the first experience after death would be one of great confusion, for it will take some time for cohesiveness to align itself with the recognition that they are, where they are, in fact that they are even still existing. Then, perhaps slowly, there may be the idea that what has just happened was like a dream. Then there will be education, understanding, and alignment of how the soul can use that in a positive, constructive way for its growth.

## Practical implications

These implications summarize Bashar's metaphysical framing and are not medical, psychological, or end-of-life advice. Readers navigating acute grief, fear of death, or end-of-life decisions should also seek support from qualified professionals.

When fear of death arises, question the annihilation assumption. The sessions locate the fear in the personality structure's equation of death with ending, and offer the inverse framing — death as expansion into more of yourself.

> — Accelerating Et Contact (qa-16), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/accelerating-et-contact)

Treat a continued relationship as possible, in whatever form it takes. The teaching is that the consciousness has not gone anywhere; what changes is the flavor of the contact. Sensing that contact is treated as normal, not exceptional.

> — Achieving Perfect Health (qa-7), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/achieving-perfect-health)

Allow grief without treating it as proof of separation. The framing repositions grief as mourning for the self that feels left behind, rather than evidence the other is gone. Polar feelings at once — freedom and sadness — are named as a center of creative power, not a contradiction to resolve.

> — A Strange And Wonderful Planet (qa-6), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/a-strange-and-wonderful-planet)

Hold the person's timing as their own. Departure is presented as chosen and agreed-to within perfect timing, not as randomness imposed on them.

> — A New Reality (qa-8), [Source](https://sassani.app/source-transmissions/a-new-reality)

If you are processing harm or a difficult death, expect education, not punishment, in the framing. The post-death path described for someone who did harm moves from confusion, to dream-like recognition, to education and constructive realignment — not eternal condemnation. This is Bashar's metaphysical account; it does not negate earthly accountability or justice.
