# Empowerment

*A figure redirects an existing current toward one open route ahead*

Empowerment, in Bashar's teaching, is the recognition that you create your reality and that you lack nothing to be who you prefer to be. Knowing you are complete — even if not yet focused as you prefer — gives you the ability to refocus in any direction at any moment.

Power, on this account, is not something you acquire later; it is something you recognize you have been using all along, and then redirect.

## You lack nothing

The ground of empowerment is the recognition that at any given moment you have all the tools and abilities you require to be anything you are willing and bold enough to believe you can define yourself to be. Many individuals apply pressure to themselves to strive, struggle, and try to be more — and set goals and ideals that continually deny the validity they already possess. To deny your completeness is, by your own definition, to insist that you do not have the capability of creating what you say you desire to attract into your life.

Knowing you are complete — perhaps not focused in the way you prefer, but complete — is what gives you the ability to refocus in any direction you desire.

## Excitement is the signal of your power

Whatever excites you the most is the signal of the things that represent your vibration, the things you can do most effortlessly, and the opportunity you will be supported in most quickly by the universe. Many people ask the universe for a sign while ignoring the signs they have all the time because they do not believe them valid. Excitement is the sign.

Crucially, all excitement is connected by a single thread. Anything you are capable of acting on now will lead you into scenarios that excite you which, at this moment, you may not be capable of acting on. By acting on what you can act on, you gain the experience you need in order to act on the other opportunities later.

Empowerment is therefore not a leap to the final outcome — it is taking the step currently available, on the understanding that the step itself builds the capacity for the next one.

## The universe supports whatever direction you trust

A central mechanism of empowerment is that the universe supports you in whatever direction you place your trust. The same mechanism that delivers more of what you do not enjoy when you trust it will also deliver more of what you prefer when you trust that. Trust is not a moral quality here; it is a directional one.

If you're putting your trust in something you don't like to do, the universe will always send you more opportunities to do things you don't like to do. If you'd prefer to do something you would enjoy, then put your trust and faith in that direction, and the same mechanism will bring you the things that are representative of the direction you have placed your trust within.— Bashar, Perfection 08Following Your Excitement (perfection-08following-your-excitement#qa-3)

Believing it will work is what lets you see it work — you prove it to yourself by the feedback you create by believing that it will work to begin with.

## Imagination is the conduit; permission slips reflect your own capability

Empowerment is not doing everything unaided; Bashar's framework includes permission slips — tools, techniques, and rituals you are attracted to. While acting on your excitement, your imagination — which is keyed to your particular frequency and is the conduit of communication between your physical and higher mind — supplies the permission slip that works best for you.

The permission-slip principle cuts both ways: anything you treat as the source of your power (a drug, a tool, an external authority) is a permission slip you have invested with capability that actually belongs to you. The drug has absolutely no power; you give it the power. Once it has shown you that you can go beyond what you believed you couldn't go beyond, you no longer need the tool — and dependency arises from outsourcing your power to the tool rather than recognizing it as a momentary reflection of capability you already had.

## Owning your creation gives you the power to change it

Bashar draws an explicit link between accepting that the way your life is now serves a purpose on your path, and having the power to change it. Once you accept and move into a situation, you know you have the empowerment to change your foundation.

Disowning the present — refusing to accept that you created it — is what leaves you unable to create the next moment in the direction you most desire.

The same principle applies collectively. Bashar attributes much of what is experienced as societal negativity — including crime — to the underlying belief that you are powerless. Those expressing criminal activity believe they are powerless, which is why they try to make everyone else around them equally powerless. When you teach that every single person is that powerful, and that through integrity you can create whatever reality you desire, people become self-empowered and no longer need to force their views on anyone else — which is itself only a sign that they believe they are powerless.

## Nobody is stopping you

When a questioner asked how to assist others in raising the frequency, Bashar's reply was a question: what does your own excitement say? What does your own imagination say? In whatever way you believe is in alignment with your true self — go ahead. Who's stopping you? Nobody. We are always sending encouragement to all of you; we never stop broadcasting. It is only you who stop listening.

The encouragement is constant; the variable is whether you choose to listen. Empowerment, in this framing, is not the arrival of permission but the recognition that the permission was never absent.

## Practical implications

Anchor on completeness, not deficit. Treat the felt sense of "I am not enough yet" as the pressure that blocks the very refocusing you seek; recognizing present completeness is what makes refocusing possible.

Act on the excitement you can act on. Do not wait for the full path to appear; the step currently available builds the experience that unlocks the next one.

Audit the direction of your trust. The same mechanism delivers more of whatever you trust; where you consistently receive what you do not prefer, examine the direction of your trust rather than the circumstance.

Reclaim outsourced power. When a tool, substance, teacher, or system seems to give you an ability, treat it as a permission slip reflecting a capability that is already yours, rather than the source of that capability.

Own the present to change the foundation. Accepting that the present serves a purpose on your path is the condition for being able to change it.

Listen for what is already broadcasting. If you feel you lack encouragement or permission, the variable is usually listening, not the broadcast.

Keep integrity as the mode of power. Bashar frames empowerment as inseparable from integrity — functioning as an integrated whole rather than forcing one's views on others, which is itself only a sign of believed powerlessness.

## Representative passages
