# Extraterrestrial Contact

This chapter presents Bashar's account of how open contact between humanity and other civilizations is said to unfold. The teaching is consistent across many sessions: contact is not a single dramatic event imposed from outside but a co-created process paced by humanity's own vibrational readiness. The civilizations involved will not land before humanity is psychologically and energetically able to meet them, because doing so would, in Bashar's framing, force unintegrated material to the surface and cause harm.

## Contact is co-created, not delivered

The sessions frame contact as an invitation that humanity issues by its vibration, not a rescue operation delivered to a passive world. Bashar's civilization "will always respond to the invitation for contact from a civilization," but takes its time "to observe what the parameters of that civilization are, on all levels possible, to ensure that such a process of acclimatization is something that will happen in a way that best benefits the civilization," because "it would serve no purpose and no point at all for our presence to create disruption in your society."

The non-interference principle is explicit: "we will never interfere, we will never push. That would serve no point because if we did push, if we did intervene, if we did interfere, then we would only be interacting with the version of your society that our influence had created."

Contact is therefore already happening, in softer forms, on the terms the recipient can bear. The exchange with one who had pushed a contact experience away in fear makes this direct: "You understand that's part of the barometer by which we determine whether or not you are ready for more contact... Whatever rate you are comfortable with your own energy will be the rate at which it's appropriate for you to have more contact."

Even the present dialogue counts: "you're having contact right now. Just because we are speaking or sending thoughts through a biological translator doesn't mean you're not having contact."

## The blueprint: vibration first, then encounter

Bashar's framework for individual contact is that the appointment already exists; the work is to become the person it was made with. The strongest permission slip he offers for contact is "that all the appointments and all the agendas have already been made. There is nothing extra you need to do, but live your life to the fullest and act on your highest excitement, being who you truly are, because it's being who you truly are that will allow you to become the person with whom the appointment for contact has been made." The single exception is paradoxical: "If you spend time worrying that you'll miss the appointment, you will miss the appointment."

The same logic is applied at the level of an encounter with a higher vibration: "we will not expose you to a vibration you are not ready for. You will very quickly tell us within your own frequency what you are truly capable of handling. And we will never, in that sense, come closer than you can handle."

The deeper framing in Blueprint for Contact is that the buildup to contact is the process of becoming "more and more the person we're already having contact with" — Bashar's civilization is already in contact with the version of the person who is ready; the apparent wait is the person's own willingness to become that version.

## Why sudden mass contact is withheld

A recurring question is why an open landing does not simply occur. Bashar's answer combines safety and respect for free will. Premature contact is compared to jamming two gears of very different speeds together: "Interacting with a civilization that is more highly integrated would be like taking a very slow turning gear and a very high-speed turning gear and jamming them together before they have a chance to synchronize — our vibration would overwhelm you and force the issues you're not ready to look at to the surface, in many cases actually causing psychotic shock."

He adds that on three occasions his civilization agreed with specific individuals to actually land and meet them, and "in every single case, no matter how sure they were, as soon as they saw something coming down, every one of them ran scared out of their wits."

The non-interference policy is also named as a long quarantine that has now ended. "A kind of quarantine has been on your planet for thousands of years — don't mess with the natives... 2012 represents a demarcation where the quarantine ends," after which "it'll be completely and utterly, totally in your hands as to how quickly contact will occur."

The timing is therefore humanity's to accelerate or delay by the changes it makes in itself.

## The greys: not extraterrestrial, but mutated humans from a parallel Earth

Bashar sharply distinguishes the "grey" phenomenon from the open-contact civilizations. In his account the beings associated with the abduction or detainment experiences are not extraterrestrials at all: they "come from a parallel reality and they are actually mutated humans. They come from a parallel earth that destroyed itself. In attempting to survive, they mutated. The mutation prevented them from replicating and continuing their species," so they entered our reality to find viable human DNA and create a hybrid race that perpetuates their own.

That group is therefore "a parallel time track reality interaction and has nothing to do with the idea of the quarantine, the prime directive, the hands-off policy, or the Federation, as you know it, in this reality."

The GLOSSARY entry under greys records the same account.

## The Thook and the forgetting technique

Bashar's civilization uses a forgetting technique drawn from another race, the Thook (elsewhere spelled Thook / Thook). The session exchange is precise: "We have described the idea of our encounter with a species called the Thook. When you are facing them it is like you are interacting with anyone, but as soon as you turn away, as soon as they're not in your presence, you forget you ever saw them. We learned from them how to do this too, so that many of the interactions we now have with many humans on the planet have already happened — but you don't remember. We use the rate at which you remember you had these contacts as a barometer for deciding when you're ready for conscious contact."

The forgetting is therefore protective, not deceptive: it allows contact to occur without disrupting ordinary life, and the rate of remembrance functions as the readiness gauge (the same forgetting barometer named in the GLOSSARY).

## Who comes first

Bashar's civilization will not be the first to make open contact, though they will be among the first. The first has "already initiated a program of contact to gauge your response."

Across the corpus the candidate named most consistently for initial open contact is the hybrid civilization most closely related to humanity — the Yayel (Shalanaaya), preceded by the hybrid children who are, in this account, humanity's own genetic family coming back. Open contact with Bashar's own civilization is described as following that initial Yayel contact, later in or after the 2025–2033 window and on their own timing. The 2015–2033 / 2025–2033 window appears repeatedly in these sessions as the period in which the larger arc of public awareness and initiate membership unfolds.

## Practical implications

The practical offering is that the single most effective thing a learner can do to "prepare for contact" is to live their own excitement with integrity and zero expectation — the same formula given throughout the corpus. The sessions frame meditation, chanting, and other practices as permission slips rather than requirements, and identify acting on one's highest joy as the complete kit that contains all the other steps within it.

A second implication concerns the interpretation of fear. A frightening contact experience, or fear arising in anticipation of one, is treated in this teaching as information rather than as proof of danger: it points to a belief that is out of alignment with the true self, and identifying that belief is what releases the fear.

The chapter preserves the standing boundary that Bashar's accounts are presented as his framing, not as verified observation; nothing here is medical, psychiatric, or governmental direction, and a learner who experiences distress around perceived contact should weigh it alongside ordinary standards of safety and care.

## Representative passages

Whatever rate you are comfortable with your own energy will be the rate at which it's appropriate for you to have more contact.— Bashar, Barometer For Personal Et Contact (barometer-for-personal-et-contact#qa-1)

The strongest permission slip we can give to you or anyone, with regard to the idea of contact, is to tell you that all the appointments and all the agendas have already been made... With one exception. If you spend time worrying that you'll miss the appointment, you will miss the appointment. That's the paradox.— Bashar, Barometer For Personal Et Contact (barometer-for-personal-et-contact#qa-2)

Interacting with a civilization that is more highly integrated would be like taking a very slow turning gear and a very high-speed turning gear and jamming them together before they have a chance to synchronize — our vibration would overwhelm you and force the issues you're not ready to look at to the surface, in many cases actually causing psychotic shock.— Bashar, Accelerating Et Contact (accelerating-et-contact#qa-18)

They come from a parallel earth that destroyed itself. In attempting to survive, they mutated. The mutation prevented them from replicating and continuing their species. The only way to do that was to find viable human DNA again, which was no longer present in their reality. So they came into yours to find it.— Bashar, Blueprint For Contact (blueprint-for-contact#text)

When you are facing them it is like you are interacting with anyone, but as soon as you turn away, as soon as they're not in your presence, you forget you ever saw them. We learned from them how to do this too... We use the rate at which you remember you had these contacts as a barometer for deciding when you're ready for conscious contact.— Bashar, Alien Event (alien-event#qa-8)
