# Faith

*A traveler steps toward an open, unmarked horizon*

In Bashar's teaching, faith is the personality-level activation of an already-present knowingness — the willingness to know that you are the creator of your reality and to act from that knowing before the reflection arrives. The sessions are explicit that faith is not faith in something; it is the mechanism itself, and whichever belief you plug into it becomes the reality you experience.

This places faith adjacent to, but not identical with, belief: belief is a facet of the personality structure that lets you experience the world as "not you," while faith is the recognition that it is all you.

Because faith is the activating mechanism rather than its object, the question "faith in what?" is described as a sidetrack inherited from the long habit of separation. Once you recognize that faith itself is the exercise, the search for a correct object of faith dissolves — the idea of "faith in faith" is presented as what it takes.

## Faith, belief, and knowingness

The Faith session situates faith inside Bashar's larger hierarchy of creation (existence → knowingness → belief → emotion → thought). Belief is the personality construct that filters knowingness into a particular experience; faith is the activation through the personality of the knowingness of higher consciousness. Your belief allows you to experience reality as separate from you; faith knows it as you.

This is why faith is described as weightless compared to expectation. A "leap of faith" is taken with knowingness and without judgment of where you land; the moment you judge where you land as less than it should be, you discover you took the leap with expectation instead.

The distinction mirrors the broader one between expectancy (the emotional knowingness that you have changed and reality will follow suit) and expectation (insisting on the specific method the ego thinks the change should take).

## Acting from faith in daily life

The practical instruction is to act on what you attract, in the faith that it is representative of the life you chose rather than an interruption within it. Acting this way is presented as the source of effortlessness:

What you attract with your faith, with your knowingness, will never be a struggle nor a strain. You will find yourself expressing the ease of creation with effortlessness by simply acting upon what you attract to yourself in all good faith that it is representative of the life you chose and not an interruption within it.— Bashar, Faith (faith#qa-2)

The Conviction session applies the same principle to a long creative endeavor that does not yet appear to meet economic expectations. The guidance is to express conviction by acting fully in the chosen direction and letting circumstances be the barometer: if support is needed to continue, it will arrive; if circumstances instead show that the path has shifted, that shift is itself a road sign — not a failure.

Faith, in this framing, "knows no end": it is persistent without requiring patience, because it does not contain the premise that what is trusted might not appear. The Conviction session is careful to distinguish faith from a process you must complete. Conceiving of the desired state is the end of the process, not its beginning; once you can imagine it, you are it, and faith is the willingness to act from that recognition rather than to wait for additional evidence.

## Faith and the leap

Because faith carries no insistence on a specific outcome, it can move further than expectation, which weighs the action down with a pre-specified landing. The Life Is But A Dream exchange frames the leap itself as the diagnostic: the same action is a leap of faith or a leap of expectation depending on whether the landing is met with neutrality or with judgment.

This connects faith directly to Bashar's broader formula — act on your highest excitement with zero expectation of the outcome — and to the teaching that doubt is not the absence of trust but trust placed in an unpreferred reality.

## Practical implications

Treat "faith in what?" as a sidetrack. The work is to recognize faith as the mechanism itself and to choose the belief you plug into it deliberately, rather than to search for the correct object of faith.

When you attract an opportunity or circumstance, act on it as representative of your chosen life rather than as an interruption; the teaching links this to the lived experience of effortlessness.

Let the circumstances you create be the barometer. Acting fully in a chosen direction in faith, while letting road signs (rather than self-judgment) tell you when the direction is revising, is the practical shape of conviction.

Notice whether a leap lands with neutrality or with judgment. Judging the landing as less than it should be is the signal that expectation, not faith, made the leap.

Treat conception as the end of the process, not its beginning. Once you can imagine the preferred state, you are it; faith is the willingness to act from that recognition now.

## Representative passages

Faith in and of itself is the mechanism. It does not matter faith in what. Faith in whatever you believe in is what your reality is about. Faith is in and of itself the exercise. It is in and of itself the action. It is simply the willingness to know that you are the creator of your reality. The idea of faith in faith is what it takes.— Bashar, Faith (faith#qa-1)

Belief is simply one of the facets of the personality structure, of which the other two are emotionality and thought. Faith is the activation through the personality of the knowingness of the higher consciousness. Your belief allows you to experience it as not you. Faith knows this is you.— Bashar, Faith (faith#qa-6)

Expectation has mass and will not allow you to jump as far as faith, because faith is weightless. The leap of faith is knowingness and non-judgment of where you land. If you judge where you land as less than it should be, you took the leap with expectation.— Bashar, Life Is But A Dream (life-is-but-a-dream#qa-7)

If you are doing the idea totally, as you know you are, then if you need any other type of support to continue to do that idea, it will be there. … If you find that by doing that, you allow yourself the opportunity to experience that that is not going to support you in that way, then trust … that it is a road sign for you to know … that you can allow yourself to do anything else you wish.— Bashar, Conviction (conviction#qa-4)
