# Freedom of Choice

In Bashar's teaching, freedom of choice is not the popular notion of picking among external options until the world finally delivers the one you wanted. It is the inner act of choosing the vibration, perspective, or definition through which the moment is experienced, and it is treated as foundational: every circumstance is read as the unfoldment of a choice already made, and every future moment is shaped by the choice of frequency being made now. Across the linked sessions the same principle recurs in different registers — life purpose, scarcity and abundance, tension and resistance, conflict with another person, and the parenting of children during a transformational age.

## You chose to be here: purpose as already chosen

Bashar's starting point, when asked why are we here, is that you chose to be here — and that not consciously remembering that choice is part of the design of physical reality.

On this account, the life you find yourself living is a perfect reflection of the unfoldment of your own self-chosen purpose for this life. The practical instruction that follows is radical in its trust: take it for granted that there are no interruptions; you are never off track; your timing is always perfect. Rather than search for a hidden purpose, Bashar directs the learner to enjoy what is unfolding as the unfoldment of the purpose you have chosen.

This reframes the spiritual search itself: the purpose is not lost information to be recovered but a present-tense lived reality to be recognized and received. Choice, here, was made before incarnation; the present task is to align with it rather than to second-guess it.

## Choosing the vibration selects the reality

Bashar ties freedom of choice directly to the parallel-realities framework: you shift through parallel versions of reality by the facet and vibration you choose to perceive. The so-called quarantine of Earth, for example, is treated not as an external imposition but as a definition of the idea represented by a particular vibration — identification with that vibration excludes unlike vibrations, so you are going to, in that sense, break your own quarantine by the reality you identify with.

The same principle appears in the mass-consciousness transformation: everyone will make the transformation, but some will choose to continue in third dimensionality, creating their own parallel three-dimensional existence thereby.

Choice, in other words, is vibrational selection. You do not choose what the world does; you choose which version of reality you occupy, and that choice is expressed as a state of being.

## Need, scarcity, and the choice to believe

When the question turns to scarcity — needing more money, experiencing poverty — Bashar locates the operative choice in belief. The word need implies a scarcity. If you believe it is scarce, then it will remain scarce because that is your belief. Need is presented not as an error to suppress but as one more message to yourself about something that you believe about yourself — information to be read rather than fought.

The counter-intuitive instruction for apparent poverty is to totally get into it — to enter the experience without resistance so that it becomes integrated within you and reveals personality portions otherwise unseen. Poverty is then reframed as one type of abundance: you have created great abundance of poverty. Only when poverty is seen as equally valid to every other type of abundance do you allow yourself to experience all other types of abundance as well.

Freedom of choice here works through granting validity to every state rather than rejecting the unpreferred one — a recurring Bashar principle.

## Another person's intention does not determine your response

Freedom of choice also extends to response. In a session on neutrality and positive energy, Bashar separates recognizing another person's intention from choosing to feel the impact of it. You can recognize they may have the intention to attack without you having to feel attacked. These are two different things, two different energy states.

Asked directly whether another person's intention determines how one has to feel, his complete answer is: That's your choice.

The broader framing is that neutrality is the position from which a person can recognize both poles and choose a preferred experience.

Freedom of choice is therefore not enhanced by denying negative energy; it is exercised from a neutral recognition that already sees both poles and then selects the positive.

## Tension, resistance, and living the choice through

The sessions also describe what blocks the felt experience of choice: resistance. A headache arising during channeling is read as some of the belief that you must remain fixed in one focus, producing resistance, then tension, then pain. The instruction is to allow yourself to live through it, experience it, not get rid of it.

Choice is here practiced as integration by feeling through rather than as mental preference — a theme that connects directly to the wider granting-of-validity teaching: the granting of validity of every path within all that is, and the granting of validity to every situation within your own path, will be the blending of the consciousness which will allow for the recognition of your connection to all that is.

## Each has chosen a theme

When the question is about children during a transformational age, Bashar extends the choice principle to each individual — including children: Each has chosen from spirit to experience certain things in your reality. The parent's work is not to guarantee a safe external outcome but to offer tools: imagination, awareness of beliefs, and the recognition of the effects of choices.

This is consistent with the broader teaching: choice is individual, theme-level, and prior to circumstance; the learner (or the parent) meets it by aligning rather than by controlling.

## Practical implications

Treat your present circumstances as the unfoldment of a purpose you chose, rather than as evidence you are off track. Bashar's instruction is to enjoy what is unfolding as the unfoldment of the purpose you have chosen.

Use need as information, not as failure. When you notice needing something, read it as a message about a belief in scarcity rather than as a state to suppress; integration, not rejection, opens the way to other experience.

Separate recognizing another's intention from choosing your response. You can neutrally see an intent to attack without choosing the experience of feeling attacked; these are two different energy states.

Exercise choice from neutrality. Neutrality is not denial of the negative; it is the vantage point from which both poles are visible and a preferred experience can be selected.

When resistance, tension, or pain arises during expansion, live through it rather than fighting it. Bashar links these sensations to remaining fixed in one focus while multidimensional self is opening; feeling through integrates the new state.

With children — and with anyone whose path intersects yours — recognize that each has chosen a theme. Offer tools for self-understanding rather than attempting to control the unfoldment of their path.

## Representative passages

You chose to be here. That is part of the idea of being in physical reality, not remembering consciously. Your reality, what you have created for yourself, is a perfect reflection of the unfoldment of your own self-chosen purpose for this life. Simply take it for granted that there are no interruptions. You are never off track. Your timing is always perfect and simply enjoy what is unfolding as the unfoldment of the purpose you have chosen.— Bashar, Freedom Of Choice (freedom-of-choice#qa-5)

You can recognize they may have the intention to attack without you having to feel attacked. These are two different things, two different energy states.— Bashar, Choosing To Understand And Express Only Positive Energy (choosing-to-understand-and-express-only-positive-energy#qa-2)

The word need implies a scarcity. If you believe it is scarce, then it will remain scarce because that is your belief. The need shows you that you believe it is scarce and therefore it is. You can view the idea of need, not in a negative way, not as something to get rid of, but as one more message to yourself about something that you believe about yourself.— Bashar, Freedom Of Choice (freedom-of-choice#qa-8)
