# Gamma State

In Bashar's teaching, "gamma state" names a specific high-frequency brain state — between 40 and 100 cycles per second, with the channeling state averaging around 45 to 50 hertz — characterized by cohesiveness, acceleration, connection, and synchronization, alongside a partial closing-down of certain neural pathways so that higher-perspective information can come through. It is the state Bashar points to when he speaks of being "in the zone," at peak performance, in deep meditation, or absorbed in something loved; it is also what he calls the channeling state.

## Gamma as the state you already enter when you do what you love

A central reframe is that gamma is not exotic. "When you are doing anything that you love to do, following your excitement, acting on your passion, you are in a gamma state." Bashar treats the composer lost in the work, the singer lost in the song, and the person simply so engaged that the passage of time goes unnoticed, as already in gamma. The state is therefore accessible through ordinary passionate engagement, not only through formal practice. Every time someone acts on the thing they love most, they are, in his language, "connecting with your higher mind, bringing more of your total being through."

This is also why Bashar treats the channeling state as continuous with everyday creative absorption rather than a rare gift. He explicitly broadens the category: "an actor who becomes the character is channeling. A singer who becomes lost in the song is channeling." Gamma is the shared mechanism — a state of aligned, passionate presence in which more of the total being can come through into physical expression.

## What changes when the personality aligns with the higher mind in gamma

Bashar is precise about what gamma does in the body-brain. The frequency "allows you to experience in the neurological net of your brain, more cohesiveness, more acceleration, more connection, more synchronization, while also simultaneously allowing certain neural pathways to actually close down in order for the focus that is necessary to bring through information from higher perspectives." When the personality — which he describes as itself a "channeled entity" being projected moment to moment — is harmonized with the higher mind in gamma, "the persona becomes far more representative of the higher mind," and life begins to show "a lot more positive synchronicity, a lot more manifestation, a lot more perspective on timing and experience of being in the right place at the right time."

The downstream effects are not abstract. Bashar lists amplified senses that begin to perceive "energy forms, different colors, or actual other entities that are around you all the time that are simply now invisible to you," a life that "feels very fulfilled, very ecstatic, very effortless, flowing along your path of least resistance," and the capacity to let what is out of alignment "come to the forefront very clearly so that you can let them go." Gamma is thus framed as a functional state — its value is in the lived experience of synchronicity, lucidity, and effortlessness it produces.

## Breath and the body: the permission slip

Because gamma draws more energy through the body, Bashar describes a characteristic shift in breathing and bodily sensation. "When the channel goes into the gamma state … there is an alteration, a shift in the breathing patterns in the channel's body." The shift brings in extra oxygen to "support the extra energy so that the channel does not burn out," and learners may feel sensations of blockages clearing. He is reassuring about this: "do not be alarmed if you experience some of those symptoms and sensations. It is all natural for you to experience a little bit of stretching when allowing more of that energy into your being."

The specific permission slip delivered in the session is a breathing practice. He instructs learners to begin inhaling through an open mouth and then, midway through the inhale, close the mouth while keeping the back of the throat open — so the breath continues to feel as if it is coming through the open mouth even though the mouth is closed. "This type of breathing will allow you to accelerate into gamma a little bit more rapidly." Learners who find it difficult are told to simply take a deep breath through the nostrils in the usual way; "it can still work. But in time, with practice, you'll get the idea."

The holotope meditation then pairs this breath with an imagination practice: visualize the most exciting scenario you can as already real right now — "not something yet to come" — while breathing to support the vibration of excitement, balance, and calm. The meditation's refrain is identity-stamping: "You are gamma. You operate on the frequency that is best for you." The practice is meant to be repeated daily until gamma becomes "your natural state," with no fixed pace: "There's no right way, no wrong way, no right timing, no wrong timing, except the perfect timing for you."

## Gamma as the engineered state of sacred architecture

A distinct piece of evidence comes from the artifacts session, where Bashar describes the Great Pyramid of Giza as a gamma-state instrument. The king's chamber coffer was "specifically designed to actually promote the idea of out-of-body experiences": "by lying in the king's chamber in the coffer and meditating and allowing your energy to go into the gamma state, the brain waves of around 45 cycles per second, the coffer and the chamber is designed to resonate at that frequency and amplify, magnify it, reflect it back to the person in the coffer … to pop them out of their body more easily so that they can … astral travel and gain knowledge from the higher realms." Here gamma is not only a personal state but a frequency that sacred architecture was built to induce and amplify — placing 45 cycles per second at the center of the Pyramid's functional design.

When asked whether there are other frequencies worth working with for creativity, Bashar's answer is blunt: "there are several, but right now, the most important would be gamma." For the present era, gamma is treated as the key developmental frequency.

## Practical implications

Treat ordinary absorbed engagement as the entry point. Gamma is not a rare mystical state; doing what you love with full engagement is already the state. Begin with passionate absorption in what excites you, not with a technique.

Use the throat-open breath as an accelerator. Inhale through the open mouth, then close the mouth mid-inhale while keeping the back of the throat open. If it does not come at once, fall back to ordinary deep nasal breathing; "in time, with practice, you'll get the idea." This is presented as a way to enter gamma more rapidly, not as a requirement.

Pair breath with the "already real" imagination of what excites you. The guided practice asks you to feel the most exciting scenario as already present while breathing to support the vibration. Treat it as a permission slip you adapt to your own frequency, not a fixed script.

Expect bodily sensations, not emergency. Shifts in breathing, stretching sensations, or feelings of blockages clearing are described as natural signs of more energy moving through; let yourself acclimate at your own pace.

Read increased synchronicity and "right place, right time" as feedback. Bashar names synchronicity, clearer timing, amplified perception, and effortlessness as the lived markers that the personality is aligning with the higher mind in gamma — not as rewards to chase, but as evidence that the state is becoming more typical.

Honor your own pace. The teaching is explicit that there is "no right timing, no wrong timing, except the perfect timing for you." Acclimating to gamma is framed as completely in the learner's hands.

## Representative passages

Gamma is between 40 and 100 cycles per second in your brain and allows more cohesiveness, acceleration, connection, and synchronization. When you are doing anything you love, following your excitement, acting on your passion, in the zone, at peak performance, or deeply meditating, you are in a gamma state.— Bashar, Going Gamma (going-gamma#qa-1)

When you harmonize and align the personality structure with the higher mind by going into the gamma state, the persona becomes far more representative of the higher mind. You function as more of the total being that you are and experience more synchronicity, manifestation, perspective on timing, and creative expression.— Bashar, Going Gamma (going-gamma#qa-2)

By lying in the king's chamber in the coffer and meditating and allowing your energy to go into the gamma state, the brain waves of around 45 cycles per second, the coffer and the chamber is designed to resonate at that frequency and amplify, magnify it, reflect it back to the person in the coffer … to pop them out of their body more easily so that they can't astral travel and gain knowledge from the higher realms.— Bashar, The Artifacts (the-artifacts#qa-5)

There are several, but right now, the most important would be gamma.— Bashar, The Artifacts (the-artifacts#text)

There's no right way, no wrong way, no right timing, no wrong timing, except the perfect timing for you.— Bashar, Going Gamma (going-gamma#text)
