# Guidance

Guidance, in Bashar's teaching, is the recognition that information and assistance are always being radiated to you from wider levels of consciousness — your own higher mind, spirit guides, the oversoul, and other beings — and that your only task is to put yourself in a position to receive what is relevant to the moment you are at. You are an antenna; the transmission is constant. The work is not to hear everything, but to trust your life and let the transmission balance itself, knowing what you need to know when you need to know it.

## The transmission never stops; only listening stops

The first axiom Bashar returns to across many sessions is that guidance is always broadcasting. The feeling of being out of contact is never because the transmission has stopped — it is because attention has been diverted or doubt has been allowed to govern. Encouragement, in particular, is one signal that is unfailingly present.

We are always sending encouragement to all of you. Remember, we never stop broadcasting. It's only you that stop listening. So if you choose to listen, you will always find our encouragement at hand.

This is why, when someone worries they may be missing messages, Bashar's reply is paradox-shaped: the only way to miss the message is to spend time wondering whether you are missing the message. Everything is already unfolding the way you need it to; the act of doubting the unfoldment is itself the thing that throws it out of view.

The remedy is not a new technique but a re-orientation: trust the synchronicity, trust the timing, trust how your life unfolds. You already know what you are doing; you only need to believe it.

## You hear what you need to hear

A questioner who felt spirit people talking to her constantly but could not always hear them was told, plainly, that she did not want to hear everything being said. Extraneous information not relevant to her moment was simply not perceived or not provided.

Information is always being radiated and beamed and sent. You as antennas pick up on what you need. You can sense that the transmission is always ongoing, but you don't always have to be paying attention… You will hear what you need to hear, when you need to hear it, and the rest of it will go away.

The test Bashar offers, repeated across sessions, is "Do you trust your life?" If yes, nothing is wrong with your perception. If hesitation arises, the work is to look at where the trust is being placed — because doubt, in his vocabulary, is never an absence of trust. It is "a 100% trust in a reality you don't prefer." Creation has already proven it will support whatever you put your trust in; the only question is whether you will point that trust at a reality you do prefer.

## The guide's first duty is to be unobtrusive

Bashar describes the spirit guide's role with a precise restraint: guides hint, suggest, whisper, nudge. They do not deliver marching orders, and they do not do your living for you. Their deepest function is to teach you to be your own guide.

Even if it's coming from a guide, the guide's first duty is to be unobtrusive, to let you be your own best guide, to just hint, suggest, whisper, nudge. That's it. Not to sit there and go, now please do this, now please do that.

A guide who overstepped this would quickly become a nuisance you would want to shut up so you could live your life. The same principle is stated at fuller length in Spirit Guides: "spirit guides do their job best when they teach you how to be your own guide… a spirit guide is never supposed to do it for you." A guide matches the frequency of your etheric body and forms a resonance link through which communication can commence; and the bridge between physical and non-physical takes place within the dimension of your imagination.

Because the conduit is imagination, Bashar phrases the practical rule as an axiom — repeated three times in one session so it would soak in: "Let your imagination be your guide and let your guide be your imagination." Imagination, he insists, is far more real than you have been taught to believe; it is the conduit of communication between the physical and the higher mind.

Acting on your excitement keys your imagination to your particular frequency, so that the specific permission slip you need is the one your imagination supplies.

## How guides are assigned, and how they reach you

Asked how guides are assigned their jobs, Bashar offers the analogy of a board with holes of one, two, and three feet and a ball just under three feet across. Roll the ball down the board and it passes over each hole and falls through the one that fits. That is how guides are assigned: by vibrational fit, by natural magnetism — not by a central control board issuing directives. What can sound in the guide's consciousness as a spoken command is simply the implicit structure of like-to-like vibration revealing itself.

The forms guidance takes are varied. A deceased loved one may continue in spirit as themselves, distinct from any later oversoul incarnation, and can act as a "spirit consultant" — still researching, still lecturing on the etheric realms, still helping individuals on the physical level.

The personality of a guide as it appears to you is unique to you, even when the same entity assists others.

Guides may speak through a felt crystalline tone, through a dream, through a song on the radio, through an overheard word; the form is whatever your imagination can use, because imagination is the network.

## The receiver's part: action, not analysis

A guide's nudges become guidance only when met with action. Bashar returns again and again to the difference between meditating on picking up a coin and actually picking it up; meditation, desire, feeling, and imagination set the state, but only physical action completes the circuit so reality can respond.

Guidance, then, is not a substitute for participation. When a teacher was given a chance by an entity whose name she could only half-hear, Bashar completed the word for her: she was being given "a chance to be yourself" — but she had to participate, collaborate, and become who she truly was in order to experience it.

This is also why guidance is not the same as being told what to do. A guiding frequency that hovers around you "does not care how long you take. It loves you all the same"; nothing arrives faster than you can utilize, the universe does not do pointless things, and the only thing that stops anyone is being afraid to be afraid — a secondary fear, one step removed from the actual feeling, which can instead be allowed to transform into excitement.

## Always at the right place at the right time

The final orientation guidance offers is the assurance that you are already in step. You cannot be otherwise; all it takes to know you are in step is to know you are in step.

You are exactly always at the right place, at the right time, interacting with exactly who you need to be interacting with. It cannot be otherwise. There is no extraneous action in the universe.

From this place, guidance becomes less a matter of straining to hear voices and more a matter of recognizing that everything occurring in physical reality is the product of agreements you have made — so the work is to allow everything in your life to be part of the path you chose to be, rather than judging any of it as an interruption.

## Practical implications

Stop wondering whether you are missing the message. Wondering is the only thing that makes you miss it; trust the unfoldment and you cannot miss what is yours.

Let guidance come in the form it is being delivered. Demanding a different format (audible dialogue when nudge is what is offered, say) is the very expectation that blocks reception. Accepting the current form is what allows the form to change.

Treat imagination as the conduit, not as fantasy. Guides communicate most strongly through the faculty you have been taught to dismiss; be quiet, listen to it, and act on what aligns with your heart of hearts.

Act, even when afraid. Fear itself does not stop you; being afraid to feel the fear does. Acknowledge the fear and take the step anyway — that is what completes the circuit.

Watch where you place your trust. Doubt is not a lack of trust but trust aimed at an unwanted reality. Since creation supports whatever you trust in, aim your trust at what you prefer.

Do not require a name, a label, or a definitive source. If a name is needed, one will be given; if you do not receive one, you probably do not need one. Let the obvious be obvious, and keep moving.

Take what is delivered as a cue, not an authority. Guidance is one input alongside lived consequences, discernment, and your own knowing; the guide's first duty is to leave you sovereign in your own life.

## Representative passages

Information is always being radiated and beamed and sent. You as antennas pick up on what you need. You can sense that the transmission is always ongoing, but you don't always have to be paying attention. And if you stop needing to know everything that's being said, then it will take its place and balance itself out, and you will simply know what you need to know when you need to know it.— Bashar, You Always Hear What You Need To Hear (you-always-hear-what-you-need-to-hear#qa-1)

Even if it's coming from a guide, the guide's first duty is to be unobtrusive, to let you be your own best guide, to just hint, suggest, whisper, nudge. That's it. Not to sit there and go, now please do this, now please do that, now let's have a dialogue about what you're going to do next. If the guide kept doing that, pretty soon you would say, would you please shut the heck up and let me live my life.— Bashar, The Voices In Your Head Highlights (the-voices-in-your-head-highlights#qa-1)

We are always sending encouragement to all of you. Remember, we never stop broadcasting. It's only you that stop listening. So if you choose to listen, you will always find our encouragement at hand.— Bashar, Never Stops Broadcasting We Stop Listening A Game Of Chess (never-stops-broadcasting-we-stop-listening-a-game-of-chess#qa-2)

Doubt is a 100% trust in a reality you don't prefer. So why not trust in something you do prefer since you're already trusting anyway? There is no such thing as a lack of trust… It doesn't care what you put your trust in. It will support you in whatever you decide to put your trust in because that decision is up to you.— Bashar, Universe Supports You In What You Put Your Trust In (universe-supports-you-in-what-you-put-your-trust-in#qa-3)

You are exactly always at the right place, at the right time, interacting with exactly who you need to be interacting with. It cannot be otherwise. There is no extraneous action in the universe.— Bashar, Primary Knowingness (primary-knowingness#qa-15)
