# Healing

In Bashar's teaching, healing is the return of separated parts of the self to the whole. Pain of any kind — physical, mental, emotional, spiritual — is the experience of a portion of yourself that has been invalidated, separated through judgment from the rest of you that could nurture and support it. Healing comes through re-integration: opening to the energy rather than constricting it, dropping the assumption that a past negative must repeat, and treating dis-ease by reflecting a person's own inner strength back to them. Tools, remedies, and techniques are permission slips that work where they align with the person's beliefs; the emotional and definitional causation must still be balanced or the symptom may return. Love and conviction are the fundamental ingredients.

## The foundational prerequisites of physical health

Before any specific remedy, Bashar names six foundational supports the body needs. Supplying these, in his framing, prevents most disease from arising in the first place, because the body has its own natural intelligence when given what it needs:

Oxygenation through deep, regular breathing (yogic practice, restful meditation, or simply not panic-breathing).

Hydration — generally one to two quarts of water a day, using thirst as the final warning signal that you have waited too long.

Movement and exercise to pump the body, flush toxins, and let minerals act as building blocks.

Reduction of stress, including the willingness to release or redefine work situations that do not serve you.

Removal of toxins already in the system — cleansing, and attention to pesticides, heavy metals, and pollutants in food and environment.

A lightened diet of fresh, water-rich food (raw, organic where possible), with protein in moderation.

In his wording, "these six ideas alone will eliminate almost any chance you will ever have of contracting any kind of disease in your life at all," because the body, supplied with its natural fuels, has the intelligence to never bring about these kinds of diseases.

## Healing as re-integration of the separated self

Bashar's deeper frame treats symptoms as messages from parts of the self that have been pushed away through invalidation. Healing is not a war on the symptom but a willingness to open to the energy it carries. The two frames connect: a cleansed, hydrated, oxygenated body is one whose "gears" already turn freely; disease arises when constricted, separated energy is held in place by a belief that says the past must repeat. To heal is to recall that no negative past has to define the present person, and to act from the recognition that the one who suffered is, literally, not the one who is here now.

This is why self-love is not a sentimental add-on but the load-bearing condition: "If you didn't deserve that love, what makes you think you would exist? Creation obviously believes you deserve to exist, obviously believes you are worthy of all the love of the infinite."

A symptom is, in this view, a place where that unconditional self-love has been withheld from a facet of the person; healing releases the withheld love and lets the facet rejoin the whole.

## Permission slips and the role of belief

A permission slip is any object, ritual, practice, or substance a person uses to give themselves permission to do what they already can. Remedies, healers, symbols, and modalities work where they match the person's beliefs about how healing happens — not because any one technique is universally true. Bashar's Beethoven permission slip captures this directly: in a peaceful state of repose, play the first three minutes of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, second movement, and let it wash through you, because "those chords are exactly precisely what will tap into the idea of letting go of the past, letting go of sorrow, letting go of grief, letting go of regrets, and forgiving yourself and moving toward the vibration that will attract to you whatever information is germane to allow you to be in the healthy state that is your birthright."

The same principle governs Reiki, energy healing, and the symbolic forms used in them: the symbols function as "vibrational koans" that amplify or generate an atmosphere, and the practitioner's affinity — not the symbol's literal accuracy — is what allows the work to land.

Ultimately, the healer creates the environment in which the one receiving accepts the vibration, matches the frequency, and heals themselves; this is what Bashar says "any kind of healing is about," including physiological healing.

## Symptoms as pointers, and the role of the belief equation

Because physical reality is a mirror of the strongest beliefs, a chronic symptom can be used as evidence of the underlying belief equation rather than as a thing to be warred against. The practical question is: "What would I need to believe in order to experience what is going on out here in my physical life?" Once that equation is identified, in Bashar's teaching it is already neutralized — identification equals neutralization — and a new preferred equation can be plugged in, energized with excitement, and acted on.

This means a symptom can also be a steering signal. Bashar tells a questioner with a rash and side pain, who had been wearing a constrictive back brace at a heavy-lifting job while resisting his real excitement in healing work: "Very often when you have something that points the way to the direction of your true self and your true creative expression of your service, then you will continue to create bit by bit here and there. If you have some resistance to moving as quickly as you could in the direction of your joy, you will create in your other endeavors things that will push you in that direction." The symptom, in that frame, is the body's way of nudging a person toward the direction they already know is theirs; the sooner one pays attention, "the less need there will be for those things to inconvenience you or cause any kind of pain, which is always the result of the resistance of the natural self."

## The healer's stance: reflection, not taking-on

For those who do healing work, Bashar frames the practitioner's job as holding a clear mirror, not absorbing the other person's state. Empathy does not require sympathy or sharing the belief that one must struggle. A healer who can interpret the same surface fluctuations positively becomes a reflective polarity for the other — the "two sides of the gear" — without being pulled into the same ocean, because "no circumstance has built-in meaning, just because they look the same." Healers should also stipulate that they not take away a person's lessons; with that stipulation, whatever happens is what serves the best for all concerned, and a person who postpones their lesson will simply see symptoms return until they choose otherwise.

## The collective and educational dimension

Bashar also points to a wider teaching function. Sometimes an individual chooses an experience like a serious illness not only for what they themselves get out of it, "but from what other people around them get out of it" — the gift of forcing those nearby to look within at what needs healing in them. A "miraculous" healing, in his view, becomes more common as more people learn from these experiences in positive ways; spontaneous remissions will eventually multiply to the point where what is now called terminal disease will be spoken of "in the same way as, oh yes, I'm staying at home today I have a little bit of a sniffle."

## Practical implications

Treat the six foundational supports as the baseline before chasing specific cures; most symptoms respond when the body is simply given what it needs.

When a symptom persists, use it as a mirror: identify the belief equation it is proving, neutralize it through identification, plug in a new definition, and act on whatever excites you most.

Choose permission slips (a piece of music, a Reiki symbol, a meditation, a cleansing practice) that genuinely match your beliefs and affinities; do not fight your strongest belief — use it.

If you do healing work, hold the vibration of unconditional love as the environment in which the other can rebalance themselves; do not take on their state as your own, and do not insist on removing a lesson they have not yet chosen to release.

Honor medical, legal, and financial boundaries. Bashar's framing is a complementary perspective on belief, state of being, and natural supports; it does not replace qualified medical diagnosis or treatment. Symptoms that are severe, persistent, or frightening warrant professional care.

## Representative passages

See the individual Margo as a being of energy. See the idea of her body dissolve in that light, to become transparent in that light, become one with that light. ... Allow yourselves to know that that vibration is the vibration of unconditional love, the primal energy of creation itself.— Bashar, Healing Of All Disease Benefit For Margo (healing-of-all-disease-benefit-for-margo#qa-1)

Each and every one of you, together and individually, have absolutely every single thing you need to change, as you would call it, to eradicate any formation, any manifestation of disease, you have everything you need within yourselves and within your environment. ... Take it all in as suggestions, reflections, advice to look at something from a different point of view as offerings to see things in a different way, but decide for yourself what is true for you, and then have the face to act in that direction.— Bashar, Healing Of All Disease Benefit For Margo (healing-of-all-disease-benefit-for-margo#qa-2)

Those chords are exactly precisely what will tap into the idea of letting go of the past, letting go of sorrow, letting go of grief, letting go of regrets, and forgiving yourself and moving toward the vibration that will attract to you whatever information is germane to allow you to be in the healthy state that is your birthright.— Bashar, Healing Permission Slip Beethoven Symphony7No.2 (healing-permission-slip-beethoven-symphony7no2#text)

Ultimately, no matter what technique a healer uses, what a healer actually does is create the atmosphere and environment in which they can accept the other, allowing them to accept that vibration, match the frequency, and heal themselves. That is what any kind of healing is about.— Bashar, Achieving Perfect Health (achieving-perfect-health#qa-9)
