# Holism

Holism, in Bashar's teaching, is the insistence that the principles, tools, techniques, and permission slips he offers are not separate items to be used one at a time but one integrated whole to be applied together in every endeavor. Acting on your excitement, for example, is incomplete without integrity and without expectation — leaving any component behind is why an application seems to fail. The same theme runs all the way up to cosmology — there is only one substance expressing itself from many points of view — and all the way down to the individual — body, mind, and spirit must be equal partners in one blended being. This chapter draws only on the transcripts above; it does not verify Bashar's account from outside it.

## One substance, many points of view

The metaphysical premise under all of Bashar's holism teaching is that there is no real separation in creation. "Everything is actually one thing, expressing itself and experiencing itself as a multitude of things within it"; the separateness you perceive is an illusion used as a tool to experience physical reality.

The same premise appears as the second of the three absolutes — the one is all, the all is one — which Bashar names as one of only three unchanging conditions in all of existence (the others being you exist and what you put out is what you get back).

This is the foundation the rest of the holism teaching stands on. If everything is one substance from different points of view, then integration is not something to be achieved from outside; it is something to be remembered from inside.

## Inertia as the signature of dis-integration

Bashar gives the principle a precise diagnostic form in the "Overcoming Inertia" session. Inertia — the sluggishness or impedance you feel when trying to move in a preferred direction — is defined as "the effect… created by the relative interaction between dissimilar frequencies of matter." In other words: friction in life is the felt experience of being out of alignment with the event, vehicle, or idea you say you want to be part of. Where frequencies differ, resistance appears; where frequencies match, the experience becomes homogeneous.

His spacecraft analogy makes the point vividly. The reason the craft can stop abruptly or make right-angle turns at immense speed without harming occupants is that the craft, the air inside it, and all the occupants are tuned to one vibratory frequency — they function as one solid object. Apply the same principle socially and the remedy becomes clear: overcome inertia by accelerating your vibratory frequency to match the idea you say you desire, "and do not consider yourself nor invalidate yourself to be anything less than that idea." Then there is no resistance, because there is no relative difference.

## Spirit and will as equal partners

A specifically personal form of holism is Bashar's insistence that spirit and will must be blended 50-50 — or, as he puts it elsewhere, 100-100. To go into "pure spirit" while denying physiological will makes you a "physiological puppet"; to let will run free without spirit makes for "negative ego." The two are married in the crucible of unconditional love, and in that balanced state "all worlds, all understandings, and all connections are possible… but not at the sake of one or the other."

The implication for practice is that wholeness is not a spiritual-only project. A balanced being is connected to both heaven and earth in equal measure; the physical mind and the higher mind are partners, and integration means honoring both.

## Holism of the self — gathering the reflected aspects

In a more personal register, Bashar calls the recognition of symbolic reflections of personality and greater being a process of "gathering and collecting oneself into a more holistic form." The integration here concerns recognized aspects of the self — the parts of you that you have projected onto the world and can now reclaim — rather than merely combining techniques.

Holism, in this sense, is also a recovery project: gathering the shards of the mirror together so that the whole reflection can be seen again.

## The components of the Formula belong together

A practical consequence of holism is that Bashar's signature tool — the Formula (act on your highest excitement, to the best of your ability, as far as you can, with zero expectation of the outcome) — fails when its clauses are split apart. Excitement without integrity becomes anxiety; excitement without zero expectation becomes insistence on a specific outcome, which blocks the higher mind's better delivery. Bashar states this in compressed form: take the time to remember all that has been said about any concept, "fuse it together," and move as a whole being — physical mind and higher mind harmoniously resonant — "in the knowingness that everything in your life works and is there to support you."

This is where most "failed applications" of Bashar's teaching land, on his own diagnosis: not in a flaw of the tool but in leaving a component of the tool behind. Wholeness of practice is what makes the practice work.

## Practical implications

The transcripts support several implications a learner can draw from this body of teaching. None is medical, legal, or financial advice; each is a reorientation of stance.

Treat Bashar's tools as one kit, not a menu. Acting on excitement is incomplete without integrity and without expectation; the kit works as a whole.

Read friction as a frequency mismatch, not as a verdict. Inertia in life signals that you and the event are at different frequencies; the remedy is to accelerate to match the idea, not to invalidate yourself as less than it.

Honor both spirit and will. Wholeness is a 100-100 partnership, not a 50-50 compromise; deny either side and you become unbalanced in a predictable direction.

Reclaim what you have projected. Holism includes gathering the aspects of self you have seen only in reflections; integration is also a recovery of disowned parts.

Remember the one substance behind the many forms. When separation feels absolute, the cosmological premise — one thing, many points of view — is the corrective.

## Representative passages

The idea, however, to us, from our point of view, is that inertia is the effect, an effect that is created by the relative interaction between dissimilar frequencies of matter… Sociological inertia can be similar. The only reason there is resistance and friction in your lives is because you may not be of the same frequency as the idea, the event, the vehicle you say you want to be a part of.— Bashar, Overcoming Inertia (overcoming-inertia#text)

We have created the craft, substance, and the occupants, substance, and the air within the craft, its substance, to all operate on the same frequency. So it all becomes ethereal matter. Thus, the spacecraft, the air within it, and all of the occupants… all function as one homogeneous substance.— Bashar, Overcoming Inertia (overcoming-inertia#text)

Physical consciousness is just as important and just as powerful as the idea of spiritual awareness. And they must be blended, 50-50 as you say, or if you wish, 100, 100, fully validated and equal ideas, coexisting as partners… Both must be present in order to be a balanced being.— Bashar, Overcoming Inertia (overcoming-inertia#text)

You are not a consciousness in physical reality. You are physical reality. Physical reality is an expression of your consciousness. It is made of your consciousness.— Bashar, Three Absolutes (three-absolutes#text)

Everything is actually one thing, expressing itself and experiencing itself as a multitude of things within it. But every separate thing, every person place and thing, every separate idea, everything that appears to be separate, only appears to be so. It is an illusion of separation that you use as a tool to experience physical reality.— Bashar, Transforming Core Beliefs (transforming-core-beliefs#text)

You are, in that sense, gathering and collecting and pulling yourself together into a more holistic form.— Bashar, Archetypical Presentations Of Energy (archetypical-presentations-of-energy#qa-1)
