# Imagination

*A faceless abstract observer looks into a crystal basin holding a small reflected landscape while the outer shore stays tangible*

In Bashar's teaching, imagination is not fantasy separate from reality — it is the direct inner faculty through which the higher mind communicates with the physical mind, and through which a person explores meanings, connections, and answers already available to consciousness. The English word itself encodes the function, he notes: "I-magi-nation — a nation of magicians is what you are." Imagination is the pipeline, the conduit, the portal; using it deliberately is how physical personality stays aligned with the version of reality the higher mind can see.

## The division of labor between physical mind and higher mind

A central Bashar distinction: the physical mind is designed to know how things are happening — perception — while the higher mind is designed to know how things are going to happen — conception. Suffering and exhaustion come from assigning the physical mind a job it cannot do. When the physical mind tries to figure out exactly how a manifestation will unfold, it gets burdened, weighed down, tired. The remedy is to trust the higher mind to handle the how and to let excitement, passion, and joy be the felt translation of that guidance coming through the imagination.

The "secret of visualization" follows directly: the picture your physical mind conjures is not the outcome to insist on. It is a symbol of a state of being, whose only purpose is to generate the excitement representative of that state. Once you have used the picture to enter that state, you let go of any need for that particular picture to materialize, hold on to the state of being itself, and let the higher mind deliver a manifestation that may exceed anything the physical mind could have pictured. "What to the physical mind may seem to be the ceiling to the higher mind is just the floor."

## Imagination as the reset button

Beyond guiding daily choices, imagination has a regenerative function. Bashar describes the moment of crystallizing spirit into the physical matrix as imprinting a core pattern — the soul agreement, the zero-moment relationship to the higher self. Going into an imaginative, creative state actually restructures the neurological pathways of the brain back toward that childlike moment in which anything is possible. Imagination, in this sense, is a reset button: when you feel lost, confused, or weighted by what you call your past, you open the conduit, return to zero, and step forward again as a fresh persona — because "when you make any change, you have made a total change."

This pairs with Bashar's teaching that every change is a total change: a completely new person has a completely different history, and there is therefore nothing that happened to "who you were" that defines who you are now. Imagination is the faculty that lets you actually live from that place.

## "It is both": imagination and the status of what is encountered

A recurring point: when inner journeying produces vivid encounters — entities, animals, guides — the question "did I make this up, or is it real?" is the wrong frame. Bashar's answer is "this and that." Every form of consciousness is autonomous unto itself, and you must create your version of that consciousness out of your own energy in order to experience the exchange. The Harry Potter metaphor captures it: "Of course it's all happening in your head, but why should that mean it's not real?" Physical reality itself, in this view, is real only as experience; the value of any inner perception is whether it helps you become more of who you are.

This leads to a stronger claim: because you cannot imagine non-existence, and because there is no "outside" to All That Is, anything you can imagine is somewhere, some-when, somehow a real reality. It may not be relevant to the Earth agreement you made, but it is real in some parallel dimension — including the version of you with three arms and wings. Imagination, here, is a receiver for co-existing realities, not a generator of mere nothing.

## The practical mechanics: picture → behave → become

Bashar gives a literal three-step application:

Reset using imagination — return to the zero point.

Create the picture — the version of you, the situation, the reality you prefer, in as much detail as feels exciting.

Act it out — behave in thought, word, and deed as that version of you would behave.

If you have a picture of yourself in your ideal reality, watch closely how that version of you behaves, then mimic that behavior in every given situation. "All you have to do is actually behave like she would behave in every given situation, and when you behave like she would behave, that person in the ideal scenario, you will then have her life. But if you behave differently, you will simply have this life, the life that is commensurate with your behavior and your beliefs."

The same mechanic applies to specific choices. When multiple exciting options seem equally available, look at the options present in this moment and choose the one that contains the highest excitement with the greatest degree of ability to be acted on. Take it as far as you can, then repeat the assessment. Excitement is a self-regulating, organizing principle: whatever you did not have time for that day, you did not need to do that day.

## Quantum leaps: skipping over the apparent process

Imagination also permits what Bashar calls a quantum leap — choosing to become a version of yourself for whom a problem is simply not an issue, rather than a version who must struggle to release it. The instruction is to picture, in detail, the person for whom the old choice is not even a thought, and then behave like them. The point is not to fight the old self; it is to step into a different self altogether, with a different history, for whom the issue never arose. This is presented as literal, not metaphorical: "Take us literally. It is that simple."

## Practical implications

Use imagination deliberately as a communication line to the higher mind. When you feel confused or weighted, treat the imaginative state as a reset button that returns you to a clearer frequency.

Hold your visualized images as symbols of a state of being, not as demands about how the manifestation must look. Once the image has done its work — generated the excitement — let the higher mind bring the form.

When choice feels tangled, simplify: among the options present right now, choose the one with the highest excitement that you can actually act on; take it as far as it goes; reassess.

Treat inner experiences — including vivid encounters with figures, guides, or other tastes — as both autonomous and your own energetic version. The right question is not "is this real?" but "does it help me become more of who I am?"

Distinguish Bashar's metaphysical framing from medical or psychological care. Vivid inner experiences that are distressing, intrusive, or interfere with daily functioning warrant qualified support; nothing here overrides that.

## Representative passages

Imagination is the conduit between your higher mind and your physical mind. It is the pipeline through which your higher mind communicates with you and through which, in receiving that communication, you can then, as physical beings, as physical personalities, apply the information ... to alter them, to change them in ways that are more reflective of your passion, your excitement, your joy, your preference.— Bashar, Imagination (imagination#qa-1)

That's what your imagination is for. Your imagination is the portal to talk to your higher mind, so that your higher mind can give you an example of the feeling and the frequency of the behavior of the state of being that represents your highest ability to attract to you, quote-unquote manifest, the idea that best represents that state of being.— Bashar, Your Imagination Is The Portal To Talk To Your Higher mind (your-imagination-is-the-portal-to-talk-to-your-higher-mind#qa-5)

The visualization that happens in your physical mind is simply a representation, a symbol, a symbol of a symbol of a state of being. Its purpose is to generate a level of excitement in you that's representative of that state of being ... Once you've used the visualization in your physical mind to get yourself in that excited state, you absolutely let go of any need whatsoever for that particular specific visualization to have to come to manifestation.— Bashar, The Secret Of Visualization (the-secret-of-visualization#qa-1)

Even if you are dealing with another entity, you still have to create your version of that entity in your reality out of your energy in order to experience the exchange. So it's both. Every form of consciousness is autonomous unto itself, as well as being a reflection of your own consciousness.— Bashar, Imagining Journeying Transporting To Another Realm (imagining-journeying-transporting-to-another-realm#qa-1)

All you have to do is actually behave like she would behave in every given situation, and when you behave like she would behave, that person in the ideal scenario, you will then have her life. But if you behave differently, you will simply have this life, the life that is commensurate with your behavior and your beliefs.— Bashar, Your Imagination Is The Portal To Talk To Your Higher mind (your-imagination-is-the-portal-to-talk-to-your-higher-mind#qa-4)
