An idea that "pops into your head" is read as information arriving into a field that is already connected to everything else, and what you experience as inspiration is the effect of how you have defined yourself in relationship to that continually received information. Two linked teachings follow from that framing: inspiration depends on a working partnership between the higher mind and the physical mind, and it is sharpened, not weakened, by the recognition that each individual is inseparable from the whole. ## Inspiration as received information In End Of Time, Bashar defines inspiration directly in terms of reception. Energy is information, and the experience of an idea arriving is the relationship between the frequency you hold as "self" and the frequency of the information itself. The quality of the reception depends on the self-definition that is doing the receiving. This places inspiration in the same family as imagination and thought: they are the forms through which information from the broader field becomes available to the physical mind, rather than products the physical mind manufactures from nothing. ## The higher mind and the physical mind A second teaching explains why inspiration often arrives as a direction rather than a complete plan. Bashar frames the individual soul as having created two aspects of the personality that work together: the higher mind, which can see farther — "standing on the mountain top, looking at the terrain" — and the physical mind, "in the valley below, walking along the path." The higher mind guides; the physical mind has the experience. On this view, the inspirations, imaginations, and thoughts you receive are representative of your excitement and joy, delivered to a physical mind that is built to act on them. Bashar's instruction is to act on excitement so that the physical mind becomes "a more receptive antenna" for those communications; when the two are in balance, the reception is described as automatic. ## Inspiration, impact, and the whole The third strand ties inspiration to the recognition of interconnectedness. Because each individual is "absolutely linked with the whole," no movement is isolated; inspiration, in this framing, is the product of knowing you are connected to the whole, can draw from it, and act with that knowledge as the full individual you are, supported by the whole. The session goes further: whatever inspires you is representative of who you are, and of the strongest impact you can make — an idea inspires you because it is on the path of the full being you are, and acting on it is what allows you to have an impact. The same session links this directly to excitement: "whatever inspires you, whatever excites you the most, that excitement is there because you, in doing it that way, will have the greatest impact."
