# Integrity

In Bashar's teaching, integrity is an energetic and mechanical condition before it is a moral one: acting in an integrated manner, with all that you are brought together and functioning as a unified whole. Morality is included, but it is not the root. The root is integration — the difference between operating as a coherent total self and operating in divided, self-contradictory, segregated ways.

## Integrity as integration, not moral rule-following

The clearest definition Bashar gives is mechanical. "When we say integrity, we are not always necessarily talking about that moralistic attitude, although that is included... integrity is a mechanical aspect of the combination of all that you are being brought together and functioning as a unified whole. Integration, integrity, acting in an integrated manner."

Another session sharpens the same point against the assumption of a rule book: "The issue of integrity is far from a strict follow-the-rules. It simply means acting in an integrated way, knowing that you are the total you and have access to total infinite ability, abundance, and power."

Because integrity is integration, Bashar frames its opposite as segregation rather than as sin. Negative situations and negative expressions are "acting in a separated, segregated, limited way — I don't have the ability, I am a victim, I have to manipulate everyone else in order to get what I want, I have to force this on someone else in order to validate me because I do not believe I can validate myself." Positive integrity, by contrast, is "total validation, self-love, integrative"; the negative is "lack of self-worth, guilt, invalidation, judgment, segregative."

## Honesty is the operational test

A practical test the sessions return to is whether your outward communication matches your real vibration. Asked whether it is manipulation to call in sick to work just to get a day off, Bashar answers yes — not primarily because a rule was broken but because the person "is not communicating the honest vibrational situation of their being," and is therefore "thinking once again that the way you are is not reason enough to create the reality you want, and that you have to create an illusion to get someone else to go along with it." Functioning in integrity means trusting that "you are as strong as you need to be to create whatever you truly need in your life without having to manipulate the true signature vibration that you are."

The same test appears in the discernment of motives. When an action is "truly being done out of integrity, out of alignment with your true self," the feeling that comes is excitement; when it is done "to fill the idea of an emptiness within you," the feeling is anxiety, and that signals a negative motive.

Honest self-exploration — owning the negative belief rather than glossing it over — is what frees it to change, and is itself an act of integrity.

## Integrity and excitement act together

Bashar treats integrity as the necessary complement to following your excitement. Excitement draws the opportunities; integrity is what lets you actually act on them. The integrity-and-opportunity exchange frames this directly: many people "will still choose to function in non-integrated ways," and that choice "can allow you to not necessarily recognize certain opportunities when and where they may appear all around you in very blatant and obvious way," because you are not focused as an integrated being.

The sessions are blunt that the opportunities "do not have to come screaming out of the jungle" — to be aware that something exists is already an opportunity, and "acting on every opportunity that makes itself obvious, that is in any way, shape or form connected to the thing that excites you the most in life," is what integrity is all about.

Integrity also governs how excitement is expressed in shared life. The exchange on sexuality is representative: it "can serve many different kinds of functions" depending on intent; "when done within integrity, when done from a place of unconditional love, when done from a vibration of your true self, it can be a physiological act of bonding... not only to each other... but to many levels of your own consciousness and to source itself."

The variable is the integrity and intent of the act, not a fixed external rule for it.

## The weak-spot analogy: integrity belongs to every level of a structure

When a windstorm found the weak point of a gathering tent and brought it down, Bashar used the event as a direct analogy for integrity and impeccability rather than treating it as a local accident. The lesson stated plainly: "Any weak spots will destroy the entire structure. See the analogies. All too clear. So integrity on all levels. Impeccability on all levels is necessary to move forward."

A weak point does not stay isolated when it belongs to a whole; the integrity of the whole depends on the integrity of every level that makes it up.

The same holistic logic appears in the Perfection-series exchange on the emotional body, where Bashar redirects a questioner who has been developing the "spiritual and mental at the expense of" the emotional: "cease to think of yourself as separated bodies... assume that they are all simply different expressions of one idea, so that there will not be so much segregation between them, so that a change in any one will be a change in all."

Integrity here is the refusal to treat any part of the self as separate from the rest.

## Practical implications

A learner can use integrity as a diagnostic rather than as a yardstick for being "good enough." The practical questions the sessions suggest are mechanical, not moralizing: Is this action integrated — does it bring the total self into play, or is it divided against itself? Does my outward communication match my real vibration, or am I creating an illusion to get someone else to go along with me? Is the energy behind this excitement (power placed within) or anxiety (power projected outside, onto a tool, outcome, or other person)?

A second implication is that integrity and excitement are paired, not optional alternatives. Acting on excitement without integrity becomes self-sabotage or manipulation; integrity without excitement becomes rigid rule-following. The sessions pair them: act on what excites you, and act on it with the integration and honesty that let the opportunity actually be recognized and lived.

The chapter preserves Bashar's stance that this material is offered as a reflection for use, not a directive. In particular, the integrity test is not a license to override medical, legal, financial, or relational obligations; the teaching reframes the inner stance from which any obligation is met, not whether it must be met.

## Representative passages

When we say integrity, we are not always necessarily talking about that moralistic attitude, although that is included. Integrity is a mechanical aspect of the combination of all that you are being brought together and functioning as a unified whole. Integration, integrity, acting in an integrated manner.— Bashar, Integrity And Opportunity (integrity-and-opportunity#qa-1)

The issue of integrity is far from a strict follow-the-rules. It simply means acting in an integrated way, knowing that you are the total you and have access to total infinite ability, abundance, and power... Total validation, self-love, integrative — positive. Lack of self-worth, guilt, invalidation, judgment, segregative — negative.— Bashar, The Golden Gate (the-golden-gate#qa-19)

Any weak spots will destroy the entire structure. See the analogies. All too clear. So integrity on all levels. Impeccability on all levels is necessary to move forward.— Bashar, Any Weak Spots Will Destroy The Entire Structure (any-weak-spots-will-destroy-the-entire-structure#qa-1)

It is acting outside of your integrity, because you are not communicating the honest vibrational situation of your being. You are thinking once again that the way you are is not reason enough to create the reality you want, and that you have to create an illusion to get someone else to go along with it.— Bashar, The Golden Gate (the-golden-gate#qa-20)
