# Intuition

In Bashar's teaching, intuition is not a mystical faculty opposed to reason — it is one expression of a single consciousness that also expresses itself as instinct and intellect. Each is a different degree of focus of the same energy, so the project is not to defeat one with the other but to blend and balance them.

Bashar frames intuition as a kind of receptive physics: when you put yourself on the frequency of your true self, the information, inspirations, and circumstances meant for you arrive in the right form at the right time.

## Intuition, instinct, and intellect are degrees of one consciousness

Bashar's foundational move is to dissolve the apparent war between intuition and intellect. He describes your society as polarized between scientific thought and faith, with each side fearing the other as an absolute opposite — but insists they are actually "variations, or degrees of the same consciousness, of the same energy." What you call instinct in the animal kingdom is the same consciousness you use when you analyze intellectually; the difference is only the degree of compaction and focus.

Because they share a source, they can be blended and balanced without cost: doing so "will not be at the cost of your reason, nor will it be at the cost of your intuition. You will have both."

This is also why Bashar refuses to treat intuition and analysis as separable in practice. To a questioner asking how to tell intuition apart from subtle analytical thinking, he answers that assuming there must be a difference may be the error: needing to separate them can request a blockage you do not actually have. The blend itself is the integration.

## The antenna and the compass

Bashar's most-used image for intuition is the antenna. He says you are like a television receiver: if your favorite program is on Channel 7, you do not tune to Channel 10. Intuition works the same way — when you stay on the frequency of your true self by acting on your excitement, you become sensitive to the information and circumstances that are actually relevant to you. With practice, intuition becomes a compass needle that points toward what is true for you and away from what is not. He is emphatic that this is physics, not mysticism: "the vibration you give off is the reality you get back."

## Action completes the circuit

A second teaching Bashar pairs with intuition is that receiving information is not enough; physical action completes the circuit. He uses a simple demonstration: meditate on picking up a coin, and the coin stays on the floor; reach over and pick it up, and it is in your hand. Meditation, desire, feeling, and imagination help you into the proper state, but only action lets physical reality respond.

This is consistent with his broader frame that excitement and intuition are signals meant to be acted on, not merely felt.

The same point appears in his reframing of conscious decision and instinct as the same thing when lived with deliberateness. Instincts, in his description, take no time in making a decision; you allow things to be obvious and act accordingly. A deliberate conscious decision and a trusted instinct are functionally equivalent when both are carried into action.

## Practical implications

The transcripts translate intuition into concrete practices a learner can use.

Stop treating intuition and intellect as enemies. Both are expressions of one consciousness; blending them costs you neither. Insisting on a strict separation can manufacture a blockage that was not there.

Get on the frequency first. Acting on your highest excitement tunes you to the channel of your true self, which is what makes intuition legible and reliable. A contradictory definition or a negative belief throws the reception off.

Act on what you receive. Intuition is completed by action; meditation and imagination set the state, but only physical action lets reality respond. Do it the simplest way you can.

Let deliberateness stand in for instinct when you need it to. A conscious decision lived deliberately functions as trusting your instincts; you allow things to be obvious and act accordingly.

Treat intuition as a signal, not a verdict. In the chapter's frame, intuition is an initial reading to compare against context, evidence, consent, and consequences. It does not replace professional medical, legal, or financial guidance, and it does not authorize ignoring safety.

## Representative passages

Instinct, intuition, and intellect are polarities in your society, but they are actually simply variations, or degrees of the same consciousness, of the same energy. What you call instinct and intellect are simply different degrees of the same consciousness, different applications, if you will.— Bashar, Intuition And Intellect (intuition-and-intellect#qa-1)

You are all like little antennas. And when you act on your excitement, you put yourself in the proper frequency to be more sensitive to other information that has to do with you. ... Intuition works the same way. ... your intuition becomes like a compass needle, and it will always point correctly in the direction of the information and situations and circumstances that are more true for you. This is all really just physics.— Bashar, The Other Side (the-other-side#qa-5)

Meditation, desire, feeling, imagination. These are all very good things to help get you in the proper state to pick up the coin with your hand. The idea is do it the simplest way possible that you have the ability to do. Just pick it up.— Bashar, The Other Side (the-other-side#qa-6)

If you cannot tell the difference, what difference does it make? ... In needing such a separation, you may actually be requesting the blockage you think you already have, but don't. Having them blended is the integration; to wish to see them separated is the limitation.— Bashar, Accepting Yourself (accepting-yourself#qa-3)

If you simply decide consciously what is true for you and go for it, it is in many ways the same thing as trusting your instincts, because you are having deliberateness in your life. Instincts take no time in making a decision; you allow things to be obvious and act accordingly.— Bashar, The Cleansing Flame (the-cleansing-flame#qa-3)
