# Judgment

In Bashar's vocabulary, judgment is not discernment, observation, or preference. It is the act of invalidating and separating a portion of experience from the rest of the self — labeling something as wrong rather than simply not your preference. The mechanism is exact: when you judge, you become the vibration of invalidation itself, and you then perceive that invalidation reflected back at you from the world. This is why Bashar reads "judge not, lest ye be judged" not as a divine command but as a mechanical principle — if you invalidate, you render yourself into the vibration of invalidation, and you experience a world that matches.

Preference, by contrast, simply chooses what you are aligned to without denying the validity of any other expression.

## "Judge not" is a mechanical principle, not a command

Bashar states the principle directly: at the point of invalidational judgment — which he explicitly distinguishes from discernment or observation — you create additional time and space. The more you segregate and separate things into pieces, the more pieces there must be room for, and therefore the more space and time there has to be for all those pieces to exist within. This is why judgment is said to be what creates time and aging. Living in the now as one integrated idea collapses that space; you "recollect yourself" by living more in the present — by trust, faith, love, light, and excitement.

The line is not a moral injunction; it is a description of what the act of invalidation mechanically does to the one performing it.

## Judgment versus preference

The distinction that allows the principle to be lived is judgment versus preference. Preference is knowing what you are aligned to. Judgment is the invalidation of everything you are not aligned to. You can prefer the way you want to do something without judging all the other ways to be invalid.

When you instead label another's behavior as wrong, the only thing they can reflect back to you is "there's something wrong with me" — and the wrongness being reflected is in fact your own labeling, not anything inherent in them. Relaxing the devaluation removes the need for the reflection.

This keeps judgment distinct from ethical discernment: Bashar's point is about the vibration of invalidation, not a directive to suspend observation of conduct, consent, or harm.

## Circumstances are neutral; the meaning is supplied

The deeper frame Bashar builds under judgment is that all situations and circumstances are fundamentally neutral — empty, blank, devoid of inherent meaning. You supply the meaning based on what you have been taught to believe it means, and the meaning you supply utterly determines the effect you get out of it: positive meaning in, positive effect out; negative meaning in, negative effect out. When you allow the positive and the negative to be equal — neither one inflated nor invalidated — then no one option has more power than another, and you can choose what you prefer freely.

The good-versus-evil struggle is, in his terms, a learned melodrama built on subjective value judgments; the event is the effect of believing in the struggle, not the cause of it.

## Addiction, anxiety, and the "screen of judgment"

Bashar extends the principle into areas the listener may not expect. Habits and addictions persist, in his account, because the experience is viewed through judgment rather than felt directly — the person becomes "locked into the idea of the judgment itself" and continues repeating the cycle without gaining the self-understanding the experience was meant to deliver. The experiencing of reality through what he calls the "artificial screen of judgment" is what keeps the loop running.

Anxiety follows the same mechanic: anxiety and excitement are the same energy, and anxiety is what that energy becomes when a negative judgment is layered on it. Relax the judgment and the same energy turns into excitement and laughter — not because the energy was eliminated but because the definition assigning it as "negative" was released.

## The diplomatic face of non-judgment

Bashar applies the principle outward as well: the first step toward peace between people holding very different beliefs is to validate everyone's point of view — including the view that one always wants war — as an equal choice. Once a view is allowed to be a valid choice on equal footing with any other, the charge comes off it; it becomes simply a choice, and a real dialogue about what works can begin. Erasing the judgment is what opens that dialogue.

Validation here does not mean agreement; it means refusing to make the other's view wrong, which is precisely what discharges the polarization blocking the conversation.

## Practical implications

Bashar frames judgment as an active vibration with traceable effects, which gives the learner concrete things to notice and practice:

Distinguish judgment from preference. Choose what you are aligned to without invalidating what you are not; preference does not require the wrongness of the alternative.

Notice when something is labeled wrong rather than not-your-preference. The label of wrongness is what creates the reflecting vibration; relaxing the devaluation is what removes the need for the reflection.

Treat circumstances as neutral. The meaning you assign to a neutral situation determines the effect you receive; equalizing the options frees you to choose what you prefer without reaching beyond your reach.

Catch the "screen of judgment" on repeating loops. When a habit or cycle will not release, the lock is often the judgment overlaid on the experience rather than the experience itself.

Relax the judgment on intense energy. Anxiety is the same energy as excitement with a negative judgment layered on it; releasing the definition lets the energy shift.

Validate the viewpoint to enable dialogue. Discharging a charged disagreement begins with allowing the other view to be a valid choice, which is what opens real conversation.

These points are metaphysical orientations toward attention, meaning, and vibration. They are not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Habits, addictions, anxiety, and conflict can involve real clinical, relational, or safety dimensions that warrant professional care; Bashar's reframing of these as "judgment overlaid on energy" is a teaching analogy and is not a substitute for treatment.

## Representative passages

It's not about really the idea that you will be judged by others. It's about the idea that as you judge in the negative context, you become the vibration of judgment itself. And thus, in that sense, you are judging yourself.— Bashar, Pain Judgement Resistance Reflection (pain-judgement-resistance-reflection#qa-2)

Because the more you segregate and separate things, the more pieces you create things to be, the more space and time that has to be for all these pieces to exist within... As your phrase says, if you judge, you become the vibration of judgment itself. That is what your phrase means, "judge not lest you be judged." It's not a command. It's a mechanical principle.— Bashar, Www.aivsoft.com mp3Cut By Aiv Mp3Cutter (wwwaivsoftcom-mp3cut-by-aiv-mp3cutter#text)

Preference is simply knowing what you are aligned to. Judgment is the invalidation of everything you are not aligned to. You can prefer the way you want to do something without judging all the other ways to be invalid.— Bashar, Co creation (co-creation#qa-4)

All situations and all circumstances are fundamentally neutral — empty, blank, devoid of meaning. Nothing means anything. You supply the meaning based upon what you have been taught to believe it means. The meaning you supply to a neutral circumstance utterly determines the effect you get out of it.— Bashar, Tools (tools#qa-16)

Anxiety and excitement are the same energy... Relax the judgment, and you will let go of the anxiety. It will turn into excitement and laughter.— Bashar, Yardsticks (yardsticks#qa-4)

The first step toward peace is validating everyone's point of view, even including the idea that it is a valid point of view to always want war. Once you allow it to be a valid point of view, an equal choice to anything else, then you take the charge off of it.— Bashar, Total Impact (total-impact#qa-13)
