# Karma

Karma is self-imposed — not a cosmic debt imposed from outside. Earth's familiar idea of karma as a moral ledger of punishment and reward is, in Bashar's model, inaccurate. Karma is best understood as vibrational physics: a reflection of whether you are in or out of alignment with your true self, and a self-authored arrangement of experiences you have set up to explore balance.

## Vibrational physics, not moral ledger

"What you put out is what you get back" remains the operative principle, but the return is not always one-to-one or easily recognizable. The reflection is there nevertheless, and the space-time continuum actually delays it: "it delays your karma to give you a chance to see what you're doing and course correct."

This makes karma a grace mechanism rather than a sentence — the delay is the built-in opportunity to realign before the reflection arrives.

Crucially, you do not need to tie every reflection to a specific originating event. "You will always know when you are out of balance if you pay attention. […] If you simply can sense that you're out of alignment, if you're willing to have a deep exploration of what that means, you'll find the answers you need, whether you remember a specific event that was representative of the misalignment or not."

This is why Bashar explicitly redefines the Earth concept. "Not really, not in the way that you explain it on earth. […] This is just physics. That's all karma is. It's just vibrational physics. You're in alignment. You're not in alignment. That's it." Giving karma a negative, fearful definition is precisely what stops you from exploring it, "and that's what trips you up."

## Self-authored arrangement for balance

Because everything exists simultaneously, karma cannot literally be a chain of cause and effect running from a past life into this one. Instead, it is an arrangement of experiences you connect from the present:

The opportunity for what you call karma is in the connections that you make in any life that you believe need to be made to create an experience of balancing. But one thing doesn't come before the other. One doesn't cause the other. You can arrange these things in any way you want to create any kind of sensation of causality, any kind of sensation of karma or balance. It's all just an experience of arrangement.

Bashar's analogy is a film strip. The frames are fixed; the projectionist can play them in any order to make a different story. You create the sensation of karma by rearranging the frames — "because now you want to explore the concept of balancing out your karma. But you're the author of the karma."

## Cross-connections to simultaneous lives

In Bashar's larger model, what looks like karma linking one life to another is actually a present-moment cross-connection to a simultaneous life. "Number one, karma is completely self-imposed. Number two, karma and the concept of reincarnation is again an illusion. It is simultaneously incarnations in parallel realities." The cross-connections are made from the present life to other lives that exist right now, because for some reason — based on the theme you chose — you believe those connections will serve you.

So karma is "your decision to create a blueprint of connection to other life experiences going on at the same time that you believe are designed to serve the theme of the challenges you wish to explore in this life."

## The paradox: recognition eradicates

The most distinctive move in Bashar's teaching is that recognizing karma's nature ends it. "The way you get rid of karma is by realizing there's no karma to get rid of. That's the paradox. It's self-imposed. The realization itself, that karma is self-imposed, is the eradication of karma."

Trying to "clear" karma as if it were an external substance compounds judgment with judgment; the recognition that you are doing it to yourself is the off-switch.

This is consistent with the karmic-template framing: "Karma is completely self-imposed by you upon yourself. There is no outside, exteriorized judgment against you. […] Karma is simply literally pattern recognition. You are the dial, and the dial for your reality is always in the present with you."

## Relationships as karmic mirrors

The connections between beings that look like karmic ties serve the same reflective purpose any relationship serves: to show each other what you need to know to learn more about yourselves. Sometimes two beings are drawn together to gain a reflection of why one chose a particular act, but this is not always the case, and it is never an external sentence. The bond is authored from the present by both beings for the learning it makes available.

## Practical implications

Stop trying to "clear" karma as if it were external. Recognition that it is self-imposed is itself what ends it.

When something feels off, explore the misalignment rather than hunting for a specific originating event. You do not need to tie a reflection to a past act to course-correct; sensing the misalignment and exploring it is enough.

Drop the moral definition. Reading karma as punishment or debt makes you fear it and refuse to look at it; reading it as neutral vibrational physics lets you examine it.

Treat the space-time delay as grace. The lag between what you put out and what returns is built in to give you time to realign.

Honor relationship as the context for karmic reflection, but do not treat every strong connection as a debt. A bond is a present-moment agreement to mirror each other, not a sentence from the past.

This is metaphysical framing. It is not legal, financial, or ethical advice, and it does not replace accountability for actions in the ordinary sense; the teaching addresses the inner physics of reflection, not external consequences.
