# Learning

Bashar treats learning less as the accumulation of facts and more as a process of direct experience, self-revelation, and present-time recognition. Across the linked transcripts, learning happens when a person identifies with a subject deeply enough to "become" it, when play reveals the structure of one's own consciousness, and when information already known is allowed to surface. The shared thread is that true learning is experiential and self-referential: you absorb what you are willing to recognize about yourself.

## Learning through identification and direct experience

The most fully developed method appears in Bashar's account of an Atlantean teaching technique. A drum begins at the heartbeat of the waking state and slows toward the heartbeat of dream sleep; as the children let their own heartbeats match the drum, they enter a shared daydream in which the instructor offers clues to visualize the subject. By identifying their consciousness with each part of a ship — the mast, the rigging, the sails — the children "learn everything there is to know" about it through direct participation.

Bashar frames this as "a kind of hypnosis teaching system" that works because the learners feel they are truly interacting with the scenario, so retention follows from lived experience rather than abstraction.

The same heartbeat resonance is described as a route into very early memory: by mirroring the heartbeat the child felt in the womb, the method can surface "very clear memories of the entire birthing process and everything from that point forward."

Learning, here, includes recall — not as retrieval from storage but as a present-tense re-entering of an experience.

## Play as a mirror of consciousness

Bashar describes an "association game" in which a person is given two unrelated words and finds the chain of connections between them. He emphasizes that the connections a person finds are revealing: "different individuals can find different kinds of connections between different seemingly unrelated objects. The ones you find… have a lot to do with revealing your own consciousness personality structure."

Learning about a subject and learning about the self are presented as the same act — the path you take through the material discloses the shape of the mind that takes it.

This is consistent with Bashar's broader framing elsewhere that curiosity itself is never idle: when a question attracts you, it is because the subject is relevant to a portion of yourself you are already exploring.

The object of study is also a mirror.

## Already knowing, and allowing knowing in

When a participant describes the sense of "I know all that but don't quite know it," Bashar confirms that people do come in already possessing what they need to know, and that the work is to find "those portions within yourself" that bring the awareness forward.

Asked how formal study fits this, he calls study one physical method of sharing information, and says that once you allow yourself to identify with an idea, "you will absorb all the information you need in one reading."

Study is honored as a vehicle, but the active ingredient is the willingness to identify with what is being learned.

The same session explicitly grounds its model in lived practice: Bashar describes his own civilization's education as "no separation between that idea of institution of education and life itself," with "learning by doing" as the rule, so that learners gain "true working knowledge of the situation rather than simple rote memorization."

The Atlantean scene and the Essassani school are the same teaching at different scales: arrange the conditions for direct experience, then let the learner inhabit it.

## Practical implications

The transcripts support a few practical orientations for a learner, without prescribing a single method:

Prefer direct participation over abstraction. Where possible, find a way to "be" the subject — act it, build it, visualize yourself inside it — rather than only reading or hearing about it.

Use state change as a learning aid. The Atlantean example uses breath and rhythm to slow the body into a receptive, dreamlike condition; Bashar treats such permission slips as valid only when matched to the learner's own belief.

Treat your own interpretations as data. The associations, attractions, and curiosities you bring to a subject are clues to the structure of your own consciousness, not noise to discount.

Distinguish memorizing from recognizing. Bashar frames real learning as allowing yourself to identify with an idea you already contain, so that information lands in one pass.

These are orientations rather than medical, legal, or educational directives; the transcripts explicitly defer personal regimen to the learner's own belief and body.

## Representative passages

When the children gather in the form of a class, the drum begins to beat, and it begins to beat at a beat that is more the beat that is representative of the awake and aware state in your daily life. Slowly, the beat is slowed down to be more representative of the heartbeat in what you call the dream state… They all go into a synchronous kind of daydream. And in that synchronous daydream, they are allowed the opportunity to visualize and are given clues to visualize the thing they need to learn about so that they can actually feel they are becoming that scenario or actually interacting in that scenario. It's a kind of a hypnotic state. It's a kind of hypnosis teaching system.— Bashar, Atlantean Learning Technique Drums Heart Beat (atlantean-learning-technique-drums-heart-beat#qa-1)

The connections you find… have a lot to do with revealing your own consciousness personality structure. And that's another level of the game that we invite you to play.— Bashar, Geometric Energy Shells2 (geometric-energy-shells2#text)

You will really not need in your terms to study. Once you allow yourself to simply identify with an idea you will absorb all the information you need in one reading.— Bashar, And Anima Personal Identity (and-anima-personal-identity#text)
