# Male–Female Balance

Male–female balance, in Bashar's teaching, is an inner integration of two archetypal polarities — assertion and receptivity — that each person carries regardless of physical sex. The strong form is not that one sex should dominate the other but that both energies are already married within the soul, and collective ills (war, dominance, self-annihilation, even the collective ground for disease) relax as individuals express both sides in themselves. The terms are explicitly archetypal rather than gendered: assertion and receptivity can be expressed by anyone.

## Already integrated at the level of the soul

When asked how to integrate male and female energies, Bashar's reply is that they are already integrated. Nothing has to be done to integrate them other than to allow yourself to know they are already integrated by definition: they are married within you. The soul, although it contains both energies, does not experience them as maleness and femaleness — in the soul they are one harmonic idea.

The practical instruction that follows the same logic is to assume the blending is already present. If you assume your life is a product of that blending you will see how it is; if you assume it is not yet blended, you will perceive your life as a product of separation.

The work is therefore to drop the symbols that keep the energies appearing separate, rather than to perform an integration.

## Archetypal assertion and receptivity

In Easing The Pain Of Death And Loss, Bashar gives the archetypal distinction in one line: the difference between assertion and receptivity. He notes that these can of course be experienced in males and in females, and that the archetypal framing is what is basic.

The convergence symbol is read the same way — as the blending of the feminine and masculine aspects within each and every one of you, the equalization of all of this energy across all levels of consciousness, and the willingness to integrate all the formerly segregated aspects into one unified whole.

## Inner balance and the collective

The societal consequence is direct. War is framed as a collective death wish born of denied passion, carried by people — especially men — who fear and hate themselves enough to project that death wish onto others. As males (and people generally) follow their passion and express their creative and nurturing sides in a more balanced way, the need for self-annihilation relaxes.

The link between inner balance and collective disease is made even more sharply in Meeting In San Mateo: Bashar reads the collective consensus belief behind AIDS as "the long-standing denial within your collective society of the balance of masculine and feminine energy within each and every being," and says that the remerging, the marriage of those energies within each being, will go a long way toward creating an environment in which that disease cannot perpetuate.

(That claim is a metaphysical reading of disease, not medical guidance.)

## Anger as a sign of an old belief meeting clearer recognition

When recognition of inner truth is felt as anger or rage — for example the recognition of the goddess — Bashar attributes the charge not to the recognition itself but to its intersection with old belief systems that are not yet aligned with the purity of what is being recognized. The energy of recognition itself is clean; the friction comes from the meeting of a clearer frequency with still-unprocessed definitions.

## Practical implications

Treat the masculine and feminine as already-blended polarities within you, and look for the evidence of that blending in your life, rather than treating integration as a future achievement.

Read contempt for the opposite sex as information about the disowned polarity in yourself; balancing what you have split off reduces the projected charge on others.

Express both the creative and the nurturing sides in whatever proportion is authentic; Bashar locates the dissolving of collective patterns (war, dominance, death wish) in this individual expression.

Notice that strong anger surfacing during a clearer recognition often marks the meeting of a new frequency with an old belief; the work is to update the belief, not to distrust the recognition.

These teachings do not replace medical, psychiatric, or therapeutic care. Bashar's framing of AIDS as collective imbalance is metaphysical and is not a medical explanation or a treatment route.

## Representative passages

They are already integrated. There is nothing that you have to do to integrate them other than simply allowing yourself to know that they are already integrated by definition. … The soul in itself, though it does contain both energies, does not experience them as maleness and femaleness. It is in the soul one harmonic idea.— Bashar, Believing In Beliefs (believing-in-beliefs#qa-6)

Simply assume that it is already blended. In whatever way your life proceeds, assume that what you have in your life is a product of that blending … Forget the symbols. Do not continue to separate them into distinct entities. Make them all one.— Bashar, Forgetting (forgetting#qa-8)

The idea can be most generally put as the difference between what you would call assertion and receptivity. But of course, you can experience that in males and females. But just speaking archetypally, this is the basic idea.— Bashar, Easing The Pain Of Death And Loss (easing-the-pain-of-death-and-loss#qa-11)

War is a death wish. … As males start to really follow their passion and express themselves in more creative ways, bringing out their creative side, their nurturing side in a more balanced way will allow them not to need to carry the idea of self-annihilation.— Bashar, of4Going M.a.d.Bashar [2015-04-11] (of4going-madbashar-2015-04-11#qa-4)

Our perception of the general consensus belief that has created the disease you call AIDS is the long-standing denial within your collective society of the balance of masculine and feminine energy within each and every being. The remerging, the marriage of the masculine and feminine energies within each being will go a long way to creating an environment in which that disease cannot perpetuate.— Bashar, Meeting In San Mateo (meeting-in-san-mateo#qa-7)

The being … represented the blending of the feminine and masculine aspects within each and every one of you … the equalization of all of this energy, all levels of your consciousness.— Bashar, Convergence (convergence#qa-1)
