# Mars and the Moon

Bashar speaks of Mars and Earth's Moon together because, in his account, both bear the remnants of temporary extraterrestrial installations — monitoring and balancing stations that various civilizations built and then abandoned or dismantled. Neither body is presented as a current population center; the teaching is historical and energetic, not a claim about present-day settlements. The same session also places these bodies within a wider energetic geography of Earth itself: chakras that emanate energy like faucets and vortices that absorb it like drains, with place names that encode their vibrational function.

## Mars: a civilization whose atmosphere was stripped

Bashar's account of Mars is that it once hosted an intact civilization which was devastated when an asteroid passed close enough to rip the atmosphere off the planet. The civilization was present and functioning at the moment of that loss. The souls associated with that civilization then began incarnating on Earth, where — in his framing — an early hominid species had been altered sufficiently to allow for such soul connection. He places this alteration in the Mid-African and Eurasian plains, ranging from approximately 500,000 to about three million years ago.

This is one of the places where Bashar explicitly links an extraterrestrial civilization's fate to humanity's origin story: the martian soul-stream is presented as one of the threads woven into early humanity. The teaching sits alongside his broader ancient-civilizations material rather than standing alone as a planetary history.

## The Moon and Phobos: temporary monitoring stations

On Earth's Moon and on Phobos (the moon of Mars), Bashar describes a few things that have been left behind by various civilizations — bases and structures used in observational work and in helping to maintain balance of energy on Earth. The Phobos installation in particular he calls a monitoring station that is visited only rarely now. He states plainly that no one lived on your moon; what was there was a temporary base, not a settlement. The primary base, he says, became activated approximately 13,000 of your years ago and was eventually dismantled.

The function of these stations is energetic as much as observational: they participated in balancing Earth's energy during a period when outside civilizations were assisting with the planet's unfoldment. Their being temporary and dismantled is presented as intentional rather than as the remnant of a catastrophe — unlike the Mars atmosphere event, which is described as a destruction.

## Earth's chakras, vortices, and place-name encoding

The same session locates these off-world activities within an energy map of Earth itself. Bashar's generalization is that chakras are like faucets (emanating energy) and vortices are like drains (absorbing energy), and that the two together form a continuous circulation — like a white hole feeding a black hole.

Specific named places participate in this circulation:

Mount Shasta is a chakra point (an emanation source).

Sedona is a vortex (an absorption point).

A direct connecting line of energy runs between Sedona and Shasta, and Area 51 lies on that line — chosen, on Bashar's account, because ships navigate more easily along that line and it functions as a doorway.

Las Vegas sits slightly off that line, drawing on the energy at a skewed angle.

Los Angeles is named for what it can become: its vortex contains the potential for it to become, vibrationally, a city of the angels — but realizing that potential is up to the people who live there.

The recurring teaching is that place names are not accidents: they encode the vibrational opportunity of a location, and a learner can read them as indications of what each place is for in the planet's energy design.

## Practical implications

Read planetary history as soul-stream history. Bashar's framing of martian souls migrating into the altered hominid line places extraterrestrial ancestry inside the human story rather than outside it; a learner exploring "cosmic origins" can therefore look inward at the threads already woven into human embodiment, rather than outward for a separate event.

Treat off-world installations as temporary by design. The Phobos and lunar bases were observational and balancing; they were dismantled when their work was done. This gently contradicts popular theories of permanent hidden bases; Bashar's account points to a finished chapter, not an ongoing occupation.

Use the faucet/drain distinction as a felt orientation to place. Noticing whether a location tends to emanate energy (chakra-like) or absorb it (vortex-like) can sharpen a learner's sense of why certain places feel the way they do — Mount Shasta versus Sedona, in Bashar's example.

Listen to place names. The Los Angeles example models Bashar's broader principle that the names human cultures give to places often encode the vibrational opportunity latent there; the realization of that opportunity, however, depends on the people who align with it.

The chapter does not provide astronomical evidence and should not be used as a source for verifiable planetary science; it is presented as Bashar's metaphysical account.

## Representative passages

The destruction on Mars happened when an asteroid scraped by it and ripped off the atmosphere, blew it off the planet. The civilization was intact at the time, and then the souls started incarnating on Earth where the first hominid species was altered sufficiently to allow for such soul connection, in what you call the Mid-African and Eurasian plains, approximately 500,000 of your years ago back to about three million of your years ago.— Bashar, All Aboard The Train [2012] (all-aboard-the-train-2012#qa-15)

The chakras are, in a sense, like faucets, and the vortices are like drains. … It's like white hole and a black hole. Mount Shasta is a chakra point. Sedona is a vortex. … Los Angeles — it is no accident what things are called — is an opportunity for it to literally become a city of the angels vibrational. The vortex is there that allows for that potential, but it is up to all of you to align with it and demonstrate that vibrational state.— Bashar, All Aboard The Train [2012] (all-aboard-the-train-2012#qa-7)
