The term also appears in a second, narrower sense: any moment of recognition that opens an access doorway (for example, the instant you realize inside a dream that you are dreaming). Both senses share the same root — a point of convergence where something that was hidden becomes visible and a new state becomes accessible. ## The shared Earth–Essassani–Sirius threshold The primary sense of "nexus point" is the convergence of three civilizations — Earth, Essassani, and Sirius — at one crossing point, centered on the 2012 winter-solstice threshold. Bashar frames December 21, 2012 as the moment when Earth's collective vibration tipped from "mostly negative" to "mostly positive" — not by a large margin, but enough to tip the scales and let the planet begin to accelerate in a positive direction. The same nexus is crossed by Essassani (in a six-month window) and by Sirius (in roughly a two-week window), each experiencing the crossing in their own experience of time but all meeting at exactly the same moment. The function of the shared crossing is to form a stable triad. Once all three have crossed, they form what Bashar calls a tetrahedral scaffolding — a stable triangular structure that supports each civilization's transformation through mutual amplification. Earth accelerates into fourth-density physical reality; Essassani (Athani, "the people of life") transforms into a much less physical, near-spirit form and takes a new vibrational name, Shakani ("people of higher-frequency spirit-light"); Sirius takes on a new frequency-name as well. The three remain linked as a family. ## The "span" and the question of timing Bashar is explicit that the nexus point is not a sudden overnight event. The "span" is approximately a five-year window with the 2012 threshold date at its center — the crossing is spread out because physical reality involves time, space, and inertia, and a buffer is needed so the change can be assimilated. The day after the threshold is not "absolutely different"; rather, you become as different from what was before as you are willing and ready to allow. The second monologue deepens this with a concrete demonstration: Bashar holds air in the channel's hand (a stand-in for the rarefied Sirius energy, which can move very fast without disturbance), then water (Essassani, denser, able to move faster than Earth but not as fast as Sirius), then a stack of quarters (Earth, densest — move too fast and the stack collapses). The lesson is that each civilization must move at a rate relevant to its own density. Earth does not have to rush at Sirius's speed just because it is now sensitive enough to perceive that speed. ## What the crossing accelerates After the nexus point, several things accelerate together. Dream communication with Essassani and similar beings increases; memories return of contacts that already occurred but were deliberately forgotten — and the rate at which you remember them is itself a gauge of readiness for further contact. The cetacean nation (dolphins and whales) becomes a stronger conduit for the Sirius energy, amplifying communication between cetaceans and the human world. Bashar also describes a series of "soul quakes" — sudden recognitions of who you truly are, each one a small death-and-rebirth in which the old identity is sloughed off like old clothing. Manifestation itself is reframed by the crossing: it is never bringing something new from outside, but matching the frequency of what is already here. The whole process, Bashar says, "is learning to match the frequency that allows you to perceive and experience that which is already here." ## The nexus point as access doorway (narrower sense) In a more local use, Bashar calls the moment of lucid recognition inside a dream "a nexus point; it is an access doorway." When you suddenly know you are dreaming while still inside the dream, that instant of recognition opens a point of access. The two senses are consistent: in both, a nexus point is a convergent instant at which a previously veiled state becomes available to be entered consciously. ## Practical implications Move at your own relevant rate. Becoming sensitive to higher frequencies does not mean you must live at their speed. The relevant rate is the one your density can sustain without collapse — spread the change out in a way you can assimilate. Use small recognitions as doorways. A moment of lucid recognition (inside a dream or otherwise) is a nexus point in miniature — an access point you can step through rather than just observe. Expect accelerations in dream contact and memory, not overnight transformation. The crossing plays out across a span; what shifts is the rate at which contact, dream communication, and self-recognition can occur. Read "soul quakes" as signposts, not emergencies. Sudden shifts of identity — feeling that the old self is someone else, that you are no longer that — are part of the post-threshold acceleration, not pathology.
