You are, fundamentally, a non-physical consciousness translating yourself into the experience of physical reality. Mind — the electromagnetic field you think with — is the physical translation of that non-physical consciousness, the way the vibrational "fluid" of non-physical awareness crystallizes into something a body can register. This page gathers what Bashar's transcripts say about that translation, about the many levels of non-physical consciousness civilizations interact with, and about the long evolutionary possibility of a society expressing itself in a completely non-physical way. ## Mind is the physical translation of non-physical consciousness The core structural claim, repeated across sessions, is that mentality is the physical-reality version of an underlying non-physical consciousness. In The Three Absolutes II: "Mental energy is already the physical translation of non-physical consciousness; mentality is the electromagnetic field that translates the vibration of non-physical consciousness into physical communication you call words. As a non-physical being, to express yourself as physical you create an electronic matrix — the brain — which interacts with itself to create what you call mind." The same framing appears in Ecstatic Transformation: "Mind is the physical reality's version of non-physical consciousness, and it is created through the balancing effects … of those glandular systems." The pituitary and related glands form an energy foundation that balances electromagnetic energy "to create from consciousness the idea you call mentality or mind in physical reality." The simplest stimulant of that glandular system, Bashar adds, is your imagination. So the chain is: non-physical consciousness → electromagnetic field (mind) → brain and physical experience. Mind is not a synonym for consciousness here; it is the physical-reality translation of consciousness, the way a telephone re-renders a voice into electronic and then acoustic media. ## How the translation actually happens: Bashar's own analogy In The Three Absolutes II, when asked for an analogy of how non-physical consciousness translates into physical words, Bashar uses his own transmission as the example: "I am not there on your planet. I am not speaking your language. The channel is programmed with the language you call English. I am sending thought impulses; there is a telepathic linkage, my frequency and the channel's frequency interlock, and as we become one vibration my frequency transliterates into his vibrational frequency and his consciousness translates my vibrations into the form you understand as language. I am not speaking anything at all — I am only sending pulses of consciousness which translate into your physical reality as a vibration modulated and called language." The telephone analogy makes the point concrete: the voice you hear through a phone is not the original voice; it has been rendered into electronic media and re-rendered into acoustic media. Likewise, the words you hear from a channeled being are a translation of pulses of consciousness into the only form physical reality can render for you. This is presented as Bashar's model of channeling and of all physical communication, not as a claim about the physics of speech. ## You are a two-way gate The same translation is not something only channels do — Bashar frames every person as a gate or valve between non-physical awareness and physical experience. "You are all channels all the time because you take the idea that you are as a non-physical consciousness and are constantly channeling that idea into physical reality through the prism of the persona you have created yourself to be in this life. … You are a gate. You are a valve. You are a doorway." On one side of that gate is what Bashar calls the golden fluid — the primary energy out of which physical matter crystallizes; funneling that fluid through the prism of physical identity crystallizes it into the physical reality you experience. And the gate is two-way: physical reality constantly melts back through the gate into non-physical awareness, so the process is always coming and going, crystallizing and dissolving. ## Levels of non-physical consciousness, and the social possibility Bashar treats non-physical consciousness as a spectrum with many levels, not a binary. In Acclimating To The Essassani World And Non physical Consciousness he distinguishes bodies that humans would still perceive as physical from many levels of non-physical consciousness, including what he calls higher-self reflections. "There are many, many levels of non-physical consciousness that we interact with. Our own, shall we say, higher self-reflections, are a non-physical collective consciousness connected to the star system of Sirius." He frames a completely non-physical social expression as a possible eventual development rather than an immediate demand. "Our society? Yes. Yes. And your society eventually as well. It will take your society about a thousand years to get to that point. Plenty. Enjoy yourselves. No hurry, no rush. Live in the moment." The Essassani still have bodies humans would perceive as physical; a fully non-physical civilization is presented as a long-horizon possibility for both societies, explicitly not something to rush toward. ## Practical implications Treat yourself as the translator, not the source. If mind is the physical translation of non-physical consciousness, then the thoughts you can think are a rendering of something prior. This is an interpretive frame for inner experience, not a clinical or diagnostic claim about the brain. Use imagination to engage the translation. Bashar names imagination as the simplest stimulant of the glandular and energetic system that bridges non-physical consciousness and physical mind. Treat imaginative practice as the direct route; physical aids (substances, crystals, magnetism) are described as externalized reflections of what imagination is already doing. Remember the gate is two-way. The crystallization-into-physical and the melting-back-into-non-physical are continuous. Reading life this way can loosen the felt density of physical circumstances, since they are described as constantly returning to fluid and being re-crystallized. Don't rush the evolutionary possibility. A completely non-physical mode of social expression is presented as a possible long-horizon development, not a present obligation. The instruction for now is to live in the moment. Distinguish "physical-feeling" beings from fully non-physical consciousness. Bashar's own civilization still has bodies humans would regard as physical; fully non-physical consciousness includes many levels (higher-self reflections, collectives) that interact with civilizations without being embodied as they are.
