# Numerology

Numerology, in Bashar's teaching, is one of a family of "permission slip" systems — alongside astrology and tarot — that human beings can use as reflective triggers, not as controls over their lives. The numbers do not govern what choices you can make; they reflect themes and vibrations you chose to explore in this incarnation, and they can help you remember who you chose to be.

The chapter's deepest teaching is about a single number, nine: a reductive, self-referential number that Bashar presents as the symbolic threshold or border of physical reality itself.

## Numerology, astrology, and tarot as permission slips

Bashar frames numerology, astrology, and tarot reading together as ideas that may have been "crystallized within you when you chose to physicalize yourself at the moment of your birth." They are not, in his language, "scientific" — and they are not supposed to be. They are designed to be used as permission slips, triggers, and reflections: tools that help you sense more clearly the themes you chose to explore so you can gain deeper insight into the path you chose.

This places numerology squarely inside the larger permission-slip framework: any system a person finds genuinely useful as a focusing trigger can function as one, and the symbolic accuracy matters far less than whether the tool helps them align with their own chosen frequency.

## Nine as the reductive threshold of physical reality

The central numerological teaching concerns the number nine. Nine is what Bashar calls a "reductive" number: any multiple of nine reduces back to nine (9, 18→1+8=9, 27→9, and so on), so it is self-referential. Every number after nine in the basic sequence simply reduces to one of the digits one through nine — 10 reduces to 1, 11 to 2, 12 to 3 — and "you will never get past the reduction of the number nine." For Bashar this is not a curiosity but a symbolic border: nine acts as "the border, vibrational, of your physical reality," the threshold beyond which you cannot numerologically go.

Two physical constants reinforce this symbolic reading. The speed of light — 186,300 miles per second — reduces to nine; and so, Bashar notes, does the more precise figure of 186,282 miles per second. In his framing this means the speed of light represents "the fastest you can go in physical material reality," the threshold you cannot pass "without actually shifting to another dimension altogether."

## Humanity transforming equals nine

Bashar links the symbolism of nine to the transformation he associates with what he calls fourth density. The year 2013 carries the number 13 — "the number of transformation" — which reduces to four. The number of humanity, he says, is five. Adding the number of transformation (4) to the number of humanity (5) yields nine: humanity transforming equals the highest vibration available in the first set of physical numbers. This is why, in his teaching, it matters to "allow yourself to be fully in your humanity and allow yourself to fully transform," because that combination attains the highest frequency representative of the threshold of physical reality — the crossing into fourth density.

## Cycles of nine and cycles of three as windows

Bashar overlays the reductive numerology onto historical and predicted event windows. Years that reduce to nine, and sometimes years that reduce to three (because three is the square root of nine and thus intimately connected to it), serve as demarcations for events related to extraterrestrial contact. In his framing the 2015–2017 window for establishing extraterrestrial life as a factual discovery centers on 2016 (a nine year), and the 2025–2033 window for open contact is framed by the next cycles of nine. He reads polarized, reductive cycles of three in events such as 1938 (the "War of the Worlds" broadcast), 1947 (Roswell), and 2001 (the destruction of the trade towers).

The cycles are not deterministic predictions; they are symbolic overlays that a learner can use as reflective triggers, in permission-slip form, to attune to a frequency.

## Numerology as a personal permission slip: the mountain

A concrete worked example appears in a session with a parent who has lost a son and wants to use "the vibration of nine" to feel closer to him on the non-physical plane. Bashar confirms she is attracted to the idea as a permission slip, then asks what she sees in her mind's eye when she thinks of the number nine. She sees a mountain. He reads the image back to her as her higher mind's own delivered symbol: the wide base grounded in physical reality and the apex in the rarefied air of non-physical spirit, with the climb itself representing a raising of vibration toward the frequency where connection can be perceived.

In Bashar's account the working symbol came the moment she engaged the permission slip: "all you had to do was think of the nine vibration and your higher mind through your imagination and visualization conduit gave you the symbol that would work for you."

## Practical implications

Treat numerology (and its siblings astrology and tarot) as reflective permission slips, not as authoritative prediction systems. They can trigger clearer sensing of themes you chose to explore; they do not control or determine your choices.

If a particular number or system attracts you, engage it through imagination: ask what image or symbol appears when you focus on it, and let the higher mind deliver the personal form that will work for you.

Bashar's reading of nine is symbolic and reflective — as a marker of threshold, completion, and the boundary of physical reality. It is offered as a focusing vibration, not as a factual claim about physics or a guarantee about specific years.

The contact-window dates framed by the cycles of nine (including the 2025–2033 open-contact window and the polarized cycles of three) are Bashar's symbolic overlays, presented as probability windows rather than deterministic predictions. Treat them as attunement aids, not as ground truth.

Numerology is not presented as medical, psychological, financial, or legal guidance, and nothing in this chapter should be taken as a substitute for professional care in those domains.

## Representative passages

Nine, as many of you already know, is what you have called a reductive number, numerologically speaking, and mathematically speaking. In other words, it is self-referential. Any multiple of nine, the numbers in that answer of any multiple of nine will also reduce to nine. So nine as a number actually kind of represents a sort of, shall we say, border beyond which you actually cannot go in your physical reality.— Bashar, Monologue Cycles Of Nine (monologue-cycles-of-nine#text)

You are attracted to it as a permission slip. In what way would your imagination like to use the idea of the vibration of nine, the cycle of completion, the threshold, the crossing vibration in that sense, in order to allow yourself to feel more strongly the connection you still have with your son?— Bashar, Mountain Analogy For Contacting Son In Non physical (mountain-analogy-for-contacting-son-in-non-physical#qa-1)

All you had to do was think of the nine vibration and your higher mind through your imagination and visualization conduit gave you the symbol that would work for you. That's all you have to do. It's that simple.— Bashar, Mountain Analogy For Contacting Son In Non physical (mountain-analogy-for-contacting-son-in-non-physical#qa-3)
