# Perception

Perception, in Bashar's framework, is not the passive receiving of an external, already-solid world. It is the reading of energy and vibratory patterns, gated by the frequency you yourself are. The structure of reality does not change; what changes is your perspective of it — and what you can perceive is bounded by what you are the vibration of. This is why two people in the same situation can perceive utterly different events, and why raising your vibration is described as becoming able to perceive what was always already there.

## Perception reads vibration, not surfaces

Coming through the channel, Bashar does not see the way eyes see. He perceives energy patterns directly. In the channeling context he receives "certain kinds of symbolic representational images" that stand in for different vibratory patterns — the personality structure, the physical mind, the higher mind, the oversoul — and he selects whichever layer the moment requires in order to read someone's energy and deliver the information they need.

Color is itself a vibration, not just a visual quality. The energy patterns are sometimes represented by colors, including colors that do not even exist in our visible spectrum. Perception, on this model, is always a reading of frequency, even when it is dressed up as sight.

## You cannot perceive what you are not the vibration of

The load-bearing claim is that "you cannot perceive what you're not the vibration of. It doesn't mean it isn't there. It just means you can't perceive it or experience it unless you're aligned with that frequency. But it's always there." The absent perception is not evidence of an absent reality; it is evidence of a frequency gap. Raising your vibration is therefore described not as gaining more power but as becoming aware of — and able to perceive — the power and the reality that were already there.

This is also why Bashar can say that the universe you perceive is the universe you are the vibration of. You experience the reality of the vibration you are; someone at a different frequency literally has a different universe available to perception, even though both are real.

## The structure never changes; the perspective does

Physical reality, in this framework, is a projection of consciousness, not an empirical thing that exists independently of the perceiver. "There is no physical reality except for your definition of it, and your experience of it is the only thing that's real." The structure does not change; what changes is your perspective of the structure, your relationship to it. Creation does not expand structurally — it expands perceptually.

The game-board analogy clarifies this: you create, at the group level, certain things to appear automatic (the rules of the game, the board itself) so you do not have to keep re-creating them — you can just play. The board seems to have nothing to do with the game being played on it, but you created the board in the first place. Shared reality is an agreement whose familiar rules recede from attention.

## Perception as a different type of seeing

When a questioner asks how to perceive "fairies" or other beings of the subconscious/archetypal realm, Bashar reframes it as a matter of frequency matching, not visual effort. These beings are real, have life and consciousness, and occupy the subconscious level of mass consciousness whereas other people occupy the conscious level. To perceive them you have to reach into your own subconscious archetypal consciousness, make connections between conscious and subconscious, remove the barriers, and blend. Then you can perceive on the same level. "Be equal to it and it will be equal to you." It is only a matter of a different type of seeing — and needing to see, needing a craft to land, usually cancels the very opportunity that need is trying to force.

## Higher frequency forces lower to rise

The same principle scales up to ET contact. A higher frequency meeting a lower one forces the lower to rise, which surfaces buried material — and that surfacing is the root of ET-contact fear for many. The discomfort is not the alien; it is the upwelling of what the higher frequency is forcing into awareness. Perception of any higher-frequency being is therefore gated by whether you can meet that frequency without forcing what you have buried.

## Practical implications

Treat a perception gap as a frequency gap, not as proof of absence. If you cannot perceive something — a state of being, an option, a being, a resolution — the work is to align with the frequency of it, not to demand stronger evidence that it exists.

Notice that your experience of a situation is the only thing that is "real" for you, because reality is a projection of consciousness filtered through your definitions. Two people in the same circumstance can perceive different events because they are running different definitions; the circumstance is neutral until meaning is assigned.

When you cannot perceive something you wish to (a subtler being, a state of consciousness, an inner sense), do not chase the perception through need. Need cancels the opportunity. Instead, blend to the level of what you want to perceive — become equal in frequency to it — and the perception becomes possible.

When something surfaces uncomfortably in the presence of higher-frequency energy (a teacher, a session, a place, a contact), recognize that the higher frequency is forcing the lower (buried material) to rise. The work is to integrate what has surfaced, not to flee the frequency that surfaced it.

Note: Bashar frames perception vibrantly and metaphysically; nothing here overrides ordinary sensory, medical, or practical evaluation of circumstances. The chapter describes a teaching on consciousness, not a directive to discount physical evidence or professional assessment.

## Representative passages

In coming through the channel in this way, we are simply perceiving energy patterns… we get certain kinds of symbolic representational images that are mostly representative of different vibratory patterns that represent a multitude of things having to do with your personality structure, your physical mind, your higher mind, your oversoul.— Bashar, Perceives Our Energy And Vibratory Patterns (perceives-our-energy-and-vibratory-patterns#qa-1)

You cannot perceive what you're not the vibration of. It doesn't mean it isn't there. It just means you can't perceive it or experience it unless you're aligned with that frequency. But it's always there.— Bashar, Game Board Analogy Structure Of Reality (game-board-analogy-structure-of-reality#qa-3)

There is no physical reality except for your definition of it… The structure never changes; it's your perspective of the structure, your relationship to the structure, that changes. Creation expands perceptually.— Bashar, Game Board Analogy Structure Of Reality (game-board-analogy-structure-of-reality#qa-4)

It is only a matter of a different type of seeing… Be equal to it and it will be equal to you.— Bashar, Hummingbirds And Rainbows (hummingbirds-and-rainbows#qa-1)
