# Personal Empowerment

*A traveler at a fork chooses the intact stepping-stone route around a flooded path*

Personal empowerment, in Bashar's teaching, is the recognition that agency lives in choice, definition, and state of being — not in force, not in an external authority, and not in any tool. The empowered stance acts from awareness and allowance rather than from the pushing that betrays a belief in powerlessness.

Across these sessions Bashar locates the source of agency firmly inside the individual: you are your higher consciousness anytime you choose to believe that you are, and the decisions you make from integrity, desire, and service are the commandment that organizes your reality.

## True power is the lightest touch

Bashar's signature distinction is between power and force. The true demonstration of power is awareness, compassion, and the lightest possible touch — the greatest power requires the lightest touch to get something done. A great deal of pushing comes from those who feel powerless, who feel they must manipulate and push things into the direction they wish them to go. Those who already know they are part of the infinite need not exercise a demonstration, because in their allowance all things will fall into place.

The same insight reads outward as a diagnostic of domination. An oppressive leader is described as an individual who did not feel their own self-empowerment and expressed it as a reflective negative mirror back to the society to show what the combined ideas of its fears had been able to create. That, Bashar says, was not functioning within integrity — because that which needs to dominate does not believe it is in control already.

## Conscious commandment: choice as higher consciousness

Bashar names "conscious commandment" as the embodied exercise of free will. You, as a physical being, have what you call free will — the ability to choose what you prefer and what you prefer to desire. This ability, conscious choice, is the same commandment you usually attribute only to your higher consciousness. You are your higher consciousness anytime you choose to believe that you are. When you function within integrity, desire, and service, the things that excite you in life — your decision to do those things — is your ability to exercise conscious commandment over your reality.

The closing instruction of that session is direct: choose, then live what you choose; trust that all the details will fall into place according to your conscious commandment. You are in control right now. You never have been out of control.

## Helping others by being yourself

The empowered path to helping others is, counterintuitively, to be yourself as fully as you can. That is how you help everyone else — because if you are not you, you cannot help anyone because you are not there. Be you first; then, by your behavior, you become a shining example that others can be who they are.

This is the mantle Bashar says figures like Princess Diana and Mother Teresa demonstrated long enough — now it is up to each person to take it up in their own way.

The same principle applies in parenting: to avoid getting in the way of a young child's excitement, support the child in their excitement and help them act on it to the best of their ability without adding your definitions — without saying it has to look this way or that way, without prescribing what must be done first. Allow them to explore their excitement in the way that is natural to them.

## Vulnerability is strength, paradox is power

Bashar reverses the usual equation of vulnerability with weakness. Open up and be vulnerable, because total vulnerability is total self-empowerment — when you open up to the infinite, you are infinitely supported. Vulnerability is strength; paradox is power.

The empowered stance is therefore not an armored one; it is the openness that comes from no longer needing to defend a fixed self-definition.

## The power is in you, not in the tool

When asked about tools — including psychedelic materials — Bashar is explicit that a tool is only a tool. The power is not in the tool; the power is in you. What the tool has allowed you to be in touch with is the fact that you can recreate what the tool seemingly created anytime you wish, through your own self-empowerment and your own consciousness.

Empowerment here is the relocation of agency from the external aid to the person who used it.

## The niche finds the one who knows they fit

Practical empowerment shows up as allowance rather than scramble. Whatever idea at any given moment you are — representative of what you know you are all about — must have a niche in the universe to fit into. Must. So relax and allow the niche to present itself; as soon as you relax and know that you have to fit in somewhere, you attract the obvious, automatic, coincidental opportunity that shows you that you fit. Let yourself know you fit and the fit will find you.

## Practical implications

Measure power by the lightness of the touch, not by the force of the push. Pushing and manipulation are signals of felt powerlessness; the lightest-touch stance comes from knowing you are already part of the infinite.

Treat domination as evidence of disempowerment, not strength. That which needs to dominate does not believe it is in control already — in yourself or in public figures.

Choose, then live the choice. Conscious commandment is the embodied exercise of free will; functioning in integrity, desire, and service, your decisions organize the reality you experience.

Help others by being fully yourself. Replacing another's responsibility or abandoning your own presence does not serve; a shining example does.

Let tools point back to you. A tool — practice, substance, method — is not the source of the power it seems to unlock; you are. Use it to remember that you can recreate the result without it.

Relax into the fit rather than forcing the niche. Knowing you must fit somewhere allows the fitting opportunity to present itself; panic obscures it.

Allow total vulnerability as a stance of strength. Opening to the infinite is framed here as the condition of being infinitely supported.

Boundary note. Bashar's teaching on empowerment is metaphysical framing about agency and state of being. It is not direction to remain in unsafe situations, to forgo professional or legal protection, or to disregard the ordinary structures of responsibility, work, and finance.
