# Politics

In these two sessions Bashar treats politics and government not as a foreign machine to be repaired or defeated but as a collective mirror of the individuals who create it. The teaching is that "you are your government," and that political change is therefore an inside-out process: change your own vibration, act from the preferred state, and create the new systems that represent what you prefer rather than fighting the old ones. The sources are metaphysical and do not endorse a partisan position, candidate, or policy.

## Politics as a manifestation of separation

In A New Reality Bashar is asked whether politics is a positive or negative learning. He answers that politics as it has generally been created on Earth "has come out of the negative manifestation of the separation of yourself from the All That Is that you are." He frames this as observation, not judgment: the need that produced politics is what allowed politics to manifest negatively. The same session traces government back to fear — to the choice to push responsibility outward ("take care of my life for me, I have many fears, but you will protect me") — and argues that a being of consciousness born out of fear must generate fear to sustain its existence. The structure of government, on this view, reflects the state of consciousness that created it.

## You are your government

Both sessions return to the same identification. A New Reality states it flatly: "You are your government. You are every idea in your civilization." The Bbs Paradigm Shifters exchange says the same thing in plural form: "You are your governments. There is no difference. Do not make a separation where none exists." This is the foundation for everything else: because government is not separate from the individuals who compose it, the work of politics is not done to an external object but to the self that the external arrangement reflects.

## Change yourself; prefer, do not hate

From that premise Bashar derives a method. A New Reality instructs the listener to "change yourself and act like you exist in a world where there is peace," and gives the formula: "You do not get peace by hating war. You get peace by loving peace." He warns that hating your government makes you become the hateful government you perceive, and frames responsibility as freedom rather than blame — "I am completely responsible for everything in my reality, which is the same thing as saying I can choose whatever I want in my reality." The point is not to judge what exists but to prefer what you want and act from that preference.

## Create new systems; do not fight the old

The Bbs Paradigm Shifters session extends the same logic to systems. Bashar directs the listener to "open up dialogues of constructive peace," while being clear that the work is not about changing someone else. It is about changing yourself, operating on the level you prefer, and creating systems that are representative of what you prefer — "not changing the old systems, because the old systems are representative of an old paradigm." The new ideas, created from a new level, replace the old ways when the old ways fall apart. This is a create-and-replace model rather than a reform-and-capture model.

## You cannot change another who does not wish to change

A New Reality draws the boundary that gives the teaching its non-coercive shape. Bashar says you cannot change anyone else if they do not wish to change, but you can change yourself and "not perceive nor experience them anymore" if they do not want to change. He frames this as moving to a different reality — "it is a completely different universe" — rather than as converting the same universe. The teaching therefore does not authorize forcing another person or population to adopt a preferred arrangement; it authorizes self-change and the creation of new systems alongside whatever the old arrangement is.

## Practical implications

Within the framework these sources offer, a learner interested in political or collective change can first ask which definition they hold of government and whether that definition treats it as separate from themselves; then look for the constructive peace, system, or dialogue they can personally create or participate in, and act from the preferred state rather than from antagonism toward what exists. The teaching cautions against hatred of any arrangement as a method, since hatred is taken to align the hater with what is hated.

These sources are metaphysical teachings about consciousness and collective reality. They are not policy recommendations, civic advice, legal guidance, or a substitute for ordinary democratic, legal, or institutional participation. A person facing persecution, danger, or rights violations should not interpret the "you are your government" framing as requiring them to endure harm or decline lawful protection, and the inner-stance work described here does not address when exit, resistance, or institutional remedy is the appropriate response.

## Representative passages

Politics as you have created it generally has come out of the negative manifestation of separation from All That Is. You are your government. Change yourself and act like you exist in a world where there is peace, not by judging what you have but by preferring what you want.— Bashar, A New Reality (a-new-reality#qa-7)

You do not get peace by hating war. You get peace by loving peace. So do not hate your government, or you will only be the hateful government that you perceive.— Bashar, A New Reality (a-new-reality#text)

In creating your government out of your fear, you have created a being of consciousness that born out of fear must generate fear to sustain its existence.— Bashar, A New Reality (a-new-reality#text)

Responsibility is not blame, but freedom to choose what I prefer. I am completely responsible for everything in my reality, which is the same thing as saying I can choose whatever I want in my reality.— Bashar, A New Reality (a-new-reality#text)

You are your governments. There is no difference. Do not make a separation where none exists. Open up dialogues of constructive peace. But understand, it's not about changing someone else. It's about changing yourself and operating on a level that you prefer and creating systems that are representative of what you prefer. Not changing the old systems. Because the old systems are representative of an old paradigm.— Bashar, Bbs Paradigm Shifters Showlast30Minutes (bbs-paradigm-shifters-showlast30minutes#qa-3)
