# Remembering

Across the Bashar material, "learning" is reframed as a particular kind of act: not the acquisition of something you lack, but the recovery of something you already are. Physical reality is described as a deliberately chosen exploration of limitation and forgetting, and the present transformation is framed as the ending of that cycle — "remembering more of your being." The chapter's job is to set out what forgetting is, what remembering is, and how the shift is taught to occur.

## Forgetting was the experiment; remembering is the return

The Remembering session opens with the framing that all learning is the process of remembering who you are. The reason is that what you have created in physical reality is "the idea of being able to forget who you are — that is what you have been exploring for many thousands of your years." This is not an accident or a fall; it is a chosen exploration of limitation and separation, "one more way All That Is has of expressing itself." The current transformation is the ending of that cycle — defining yourself anew, recognizing more of yourself that already is.

The practical upshot is that being true to yourself — living with conviction, allowing yourself freedom of expression without judgment or invalidation — is what it means to live as "the complete facet that you are of the multidimensional crystal that is All That Is." In being fully yourself you extend to fill your universe, and along the borderlines of your facet "touch all other facets and feel the connection you have to everyone else, to everything else."

## What you imagine, you already are

The mechanism of remembering is imagination. "Everything you have ever been, everything you will ever be… is all right here, right now. If you can imagine it, you can be it right now, because when you imagine it you are already vibrating at that level. You cannot imagine non-existence; everything you imagine is real." The second you perceive that you are the preferred view, you are that view, until you decide to go back — "that is the way to create." The only thing that keeps the preferred self in the future is assuming it belongs there, because you create the future from the present.

## Recognition is the end of the process

A subtle but load-bearing teaching: in this frame, the moment you recognize a limiting belief, that recognition itself completes the work — you do not then have to walk a long path to fix it. "The action of a question is the realization that you always see the answer." You only experience a question because you already contain its answer; you split them apart to look at the reflection. So with recognition of a pattern: "in the second you recognize that you are doing a specific thing, believing a certain way, that recognition of itself is the end of the process — you have integrated in that moment." What lengthens the path is the assumption that there must be more to do.

## Pain as the symptom of separation, not the engine of growth

The same session addresses a questioner who believes the pain around a family separation is connected with growth. Bashar's reframe is direct: "all pain — physical, emotional, mental — is the result of imposing a separation between yourself and the All That Is that you are." The work is not to use pain as the ticket to understanding; it is to be willing to believe you do not have to create pain in order to understand yourself. Unconditional self-love is offered as what will actually nourish and support you.

## The transition between two worlds

The companion session, Remembering Who You Are, applies the same frame to the common experience of feeling "between two worlds" — the old ways no longer working and the new ways not yet clear. The teaching is to let the transition be a natural part of the process rather than thinking you have to be other than where you are: "You begin to transform anything by accepting it as it is." Part of remembering is recognizing that excitement does not have to look like jumping up and down; it can be "simply that sense of centered peace," and the way through the in-between is to act, each moment, on whatever option carries the most available action.

## Practical implications

Treat learning as recognition, not acquisition. If the underlying frame is that you already are the wholeness you seek, then study and practice become forms of remembrance — permission slips — rather than ways to earn what you lack.

Use imagination as the lever. Because "everything you imagine is real" in this teaching, the preferred self is accessed by imagining it fully now, not by waiting to deserve it.

Let recognition complete the step. When you see a belief or pattern clearly, trust that seeing as the integration, rather than manufacturing a long penance afterward.

Question pain-as-growth. The teaching separates growth from imposed pain: pain is framed as the symptom of a separation to release, not the price of understanding.

Accept the in-between. Where you feel between identities, allow that state itself rather than rushing it; the quiet centered peace is itself a legitimate form of excitement.

## Representative passages

All of what you call learning is the process of remembering who you are. The idea that you have created in this physical reality has been the idea of being able to forget who you are — that is what you have been exploring for many thousands of your years.— Bashar, Remembering (remembering#qa-1)

Everything you have ever been, everything you will ever be, is all right here, right now. If you can imagine it, you can be it right now, because when you imagine it you are already vibrating at that level. You cannot imagine non-existence; everything you imagine is real.— Bashar, Remembering (remembering#qa-5)

In the second you recognize that you are doing a specific thing, believing a certain way, that recognition of itself is the end of the process — you have integrated in that moment.— Bashar, Remembering (remembering#qa-5)

All pain — physical, emotional, mental — is the result of imposing a separation between yourself and the All That Is that you are.— Bashar, Remembering (remembering#qa-9)
