This chapter explains what Bashar says Saturn actually is, why its rings matter, and how its radiance is meant to guide the human journey through the nine powers. ## Saturn as the body of mystery Bashar begins from the premise that every world has consciousnesses associated with it in other dimensions and realities — not consciousness inhabiting the world physically the way you inhabit Earth, but an associated group of non-physical consciousnesses expressing in a variety of forms. Saturn, in particular, is identified as the body in your solar system that "best represents the ability to disperse, to disseminate these vibrations… to focus these vibrations for you, to guide you." He calls Saturn — half-smiling — the "Lord of the Rings," and says it is "a world of mystery, an energy of mystery." The Council of Nine are interdimensional oversouls who, at any given moment, each represent one of those nine qualities, and who explore those qualities as if they were actual landscapes, atmospheres, and realms. The rings, he says, are the reason Saturn is the body chosen to radiate those frequencies into your system. Humans then sense those frequencies intuitively and interpret them as a council of nine guiding beings. ## An oversoul of oversouls for the solar system Bashar positions the Council of Nine as "an oversoul of oversouls" for the entire solar system. He gives a striking number: roughly 300,000 oversouls make up the 7 billion people on your world, each split into many simultaneous incarnations across what you call past, present, and future — all of which, he says, exist at the same time. The Council interacts with all of those incarnations, not just the present ones. This is why the Council is described as almost unimaginable in scope: a reflective and powerful collection of consciousnesses whose explorations of the nine qualities have no clean analogue in physical reality. ## Guidance is bidirectional A key implication of Bashar's framing is that guidance flows both ways. Every time a person moves through the apprentice-adept-alchemist cycles and uses one of the nine powers — perceiving, choosing, acting, experiencing, reflecting, learning, growing, transcending, forgetting — they tap directly into the vibration of the corresponding oversoul, who guides them. At the same time, the person's unique physical experience of that quality is fed back into the Council's interdimensional exploration. The Council is said to joyfully include human experience in what they are doing, because in a sense they are expressed as an oversoul of your entire solar system. At the end of physical life, Bashar says, a being may choose to remain in an interdimensional state and accompany the Council in a different way than was possible in physical form — beginning to participate in their journeys at whatever level the being is capable of attending. ## Practical implications Treat mystery as an invitation, not a threat. Bashar's closing message is that the only thing you ever find in the unknown is more of yourself; you are your own mysteries. Saturn's radiance is framed as a guide into mystery rather than a warning away from it. Use the nine powers deliberately. Because each of the nine powers corresponds to a Council oversoul, Bashar's framing implies that consciously exercising any of them — choosing, acting, reflecting, transcending, and so on — aligns you with guiding energy for that specific quality. Do not literalize the image. Bashar is explicit that the Council are not physicalized people sitting around a table; "Council of Nine" and "Lord of the Rings" are analogies and symbols for interdimensional oversouls.
