# Separation

Separation is the act — and the illusion — of forgetting that you create it all, of dividing the one unbroken wholeness of All That Is into a self that experiences and a world that seems to act upon it. Mechanically, Bashar defines negative energy as that which "separates, segregates, compartmentalizes," and positive energy as that which "integrates and makes whole"; on this definition a "negative" belief is simply one that is separative and out of alignment with the true vibration, whereas a positive belief is integrative and unifying.

## The mechanical definition

Bashar's treatment of separation begins with a precise mechanics. Positive energy integrates and makes whole; negative energy separates, segregates, and compartmentalizes. A belief system out of alignment with your true self — "against the grain of your joy, your love, in alignment with your fear" — is negative in exactly this mechanical sense: it cuts the field of consciousness into pieces that then appear to act on each other. The wholeness was never actually broken; the separation is a way of experiencing the wholeness as if it were broken.

This is why the same energy can appear as fear or as love depending on the frequency it is run at. Fear is not a different substance from joy; it is the being's own energy flowing through a belief system that compartmentalizes it. Change the belief and the same energy re-integrates as excitement, love, or knowingness.

## The denial-separation-projection sequence

In the session that names the topic directly, Bashar describes a three-part mechanism through which fear-based beliefs hide themselves. First comes denial: lack of awareness of the belief that is causing a negative reaction. Then separation: because the negative energy compartmentalizes, the reaction feels split off from the self that is having it. Then projection: because the feeling now seems to be outside the self, its cause is located outside too — blame is placed on other people, circumstances, or situations rather than on the belief generating the reaction.

The tool this offers is a pause. When you notice yourself reacting and attacking back, treat that as the mechanism of separation at work — a signal that a negative belief is perched in the unconscious — and use the moment to identify the definition beneath the reaction. The point is not to ignore whether someone else is in fact acting out of integrity; the point is that, regardless of their intention, the effect you experience is determined by the belief you hold, and you can choose a response rather than a reaction.

## The 25,000-year cycle

Bashar places separation in a historical frame. The current era is the end of a 25,000-year cycle in which consciousness projected into physicality, became fascinated with limitation, and locked itself into the reincarnational path — forgetting that it was All That Is and treating the physical world as something that happens to it from outside. Religion, in his account, arose from this exploration: as long as you have created yourself to be separate from the All That Is that you are, the exploration of the self takes place outside the self, and ritual, saviors, priests, and governments form to mediate a power that was always internal.

The transformation of this era is the integration: the removal of the separation between knowing, belief, emotion, and thought, and between the self and All That Is. As that integration occurs, the outward forms (religion, government) are supposed to dissolve back into their original function — unconditional love, lived, not ritualized. Prophecy, read through the lens of separation, produced the doom-laden scenarios (judgment, Armageddon, trial by fire); read through the lens of integration, all the prophecies say the same thing: you are integrating, this is an age of transformation.

## Nothing is outside All That Is

The metaphysical ground of the topic is that All That Is is, by definition, all there is. A being can expand beyond any limited representation of God, but never beyond All That Is, "because nothing is outside it; any division of All That Is, no matter how grand, is not All That Is, which is all divisions." The separation, in other words, is an experience within All That Is, not a real excision from it. The One includes a portion with reflective potentiality — the All That Is that recognizes itself as the one and everything — so the apparent division is the means by which the One knows itself.

This is also why separation can be worked with: because it is an experience rather than a fact, changing the belief that maintains the experience dissolves the appearance. The same consciousness that compartmentalized itself can re-integrate, and the wholeness it "returns to" was never actually lost.

## The paradox: wholeness requires difference

Separation's resolution is not uniformity. Bashar's paradox of unity is that "the only way you create one whole picture is by allowing all the pieces to be unique. Wholeness is the product of difference — if you change the shape of the puzzle piece, it no longer fits." Integration is not the erasure of individuality but the recognition that each unique piece is already part of the whole. This is why "if there were only one path, there would only be one person"; the many paths exist precisely because there are many individuals, and they all lead to the same understanding.

The practical consequence is that releasing separation does not mean collapsing into sameness. It means allowing each being — including yourself — to be the unique facet of All That Is that it is, while no longer pretending the facet is separate from the crystal it expresses.

## Practical implications

The transcripts offer three practical moves around separation. First, treat a reactive, attacking, blaming response as data: it signals that a negative belief has compartmentalized your energy and projected its cause outward. Use the pause to identify the belief, then choose a response rather than re-enacting the reaction. Second, examine where you have located a power that is actually internal — saviors, priests, institutions, leaders, circumstances — and consider whether that location is a product of the 25,000-year habit of exploring the self as separate from All That Is. Third, when integrating, do not confuse wholeness with sameness: the goal is to allow uniqueness within unity, not to flatten difference.

The metaphysical scope here is large — the topic treats physical reality, reincarnation, and the structure of All That Is as aspects of one separation-and-integration dynamic. None of that is presented as verified cosmology; it is Bashar's framing, and a learner can work with the practical tool (the pause, the belief check, the rejection of projected blame) without adopting the cosmological timeline.

## Representative passages

Negative energy separates, segregates, compartmentalizes, as opposed to positive energy which integrates and makes whole. That is the mechanical definition, positive and negative energy. […] you may simply go into the idea called denial, which is simply lack of awareness of yourself, and you may then, because you are compounding the negative energy, go into further negative energy, which would be separation, and in the energy of denial, and in the energy of separation, because it is separate from yourself, or seems to be, you will then project the idea of the cause of this feeling outward. […] you can decide to experience it in a positive way, to get a positive effect out of it, regardless of what they may have intended consciously or unconsciously.— Bashar, Denial Separation Projection (denial-separation-projection#qa-1)

As long as you have created yourself to be separate from the all that is that you are, this exploration has taken place outside yourselves. So the creation of ritual, to understand and reflect to yourselves all that you can contain in your reality. But in this way, now that you are becoming integrated, you will find that this exploration goes within, and that the ritualized tools are no longer necessary.— Bashar, New Metaphysics Intro And Religion (new-metaphysics-intro-and-religion#qa-1)

In times that were deep into the separation, these ideas of integration were viewed as straying from the so-called trueness of one particular religion […]. Therefore, all the prophecies are all saying the same thing, that you are integrating, that this is an age of transformation, and you are going to shift into a new idea of yourself.— Bashar, New Metaphysics Intro And Religion (new-metaphysics-intro-and-religion#qa-4)

A being can expand beyond any limited representation of God, but never beyond All That Is, because nothing is outside it; any division of All That Is, no matter how grand, is not All That Is, which is all divisions.— Bashar, Nothing Is Outside Of All That Is All That Is Is All That Is (nothing-is-outside-of-all-that-is-all-that-is-is-all-that-is#summary)
