Across the four installments the practice aligns the four directions and "all the polarities within the being that you are," and the fourth session is said to lay the energetic foundation for what Bashar called the year of manifestation. The exercise is framed as a Christmas gift — a willingness on the part of those present to radiate joy so that anyone, on some level of consciousness, can pick up the reflection and create their own version of it. ## The technique Each installment leads the group through three counts of 33 seconds, a different image each time. The first is an emotional orange light radiated around and through the Earth to every being — plant, mineral, animal, humaniform, cetacean — unconditionally and non-discriminately; with each increasing number the energy is amplified tenfold, twentyfold, a hundredfold, until the participant thinks they can contain it no longer, and then it is built greater still, "for if you can conceive of the idea of a limit, there is always something beyond." The second image is a crystalline blue mental energy, gathered as a whirlpool of the civilization's entire electro- and etheromagnetic field, bursting outward in a shockwave through the shared medium in which all minds communicate telepathically — "much like water," where every motion creates ripples felt by everyone and everything. The third image turns every cell and atom absolutely crystal clear so that a photonic white light flashes through and envelops the whole planet: no shadows remain, all becomes one homogeneous sea of light. At the count of 33 the image is cut dead — not faded out. Cutting, rather than fading, is a deliberate instruction: the energy is released at its peak into the form each participant intended. ## What the practice assumes The exercise rests on a specific view of consciousness and physical reality. The etheromagnetic field in which the blue ripples travel is the same field Bashar returns to whenever he describes telepathic connection — every individual is already immersed in it and already rippling through it, whether or not they are conscious of doing so; the meditation simply makes the rippling deliberate and joyful. The white-light stage presupposes that physical matter and the living beings within it are not truly separate objects but one homogeneous energy "manifesting itself in diverse, multitudinous, and simultaneous aspects." Because each individual's radiation of joy is felt on some level by every being, the premise is that no one who is unwilling to receive the gift will be forced to; the technique "will not invade anyone who does not wish to be open to this idea," and only aligns the sender with those who choose to be aligned. ## The 33 seconds and the nature of time Participants sometimes notice that Bashar's count seems much faster than a literal 33 seconds. He answers that the count is an emotional 33 seconds relevant to the experience, not to outside clock time, because time itself is a flexible, malleable illusion of consciousness. When you are absorbed in the now — as the meditation is designed to induce — you create less experiential time; what feels like 33 seconds to the participant may register as a much longer interval to an outside observer. This same principle is why, Bashar says, lifespans are lengthening as humans learn to live more in the present. ## The wider context The Awakening installments sit inside a larger teaching about collective threshold-crossing. In a related session Bashar frames 2012 (by the Mayan calendar) as the leading edge of collective consciousness achieving critical mass, tipping net-positive, and ending a long "quarantine" or hands-off policy by other civilizations — after which open contact depends only on humanity's rate of comfort. Positive energy, he emphasizes, is collective, integrative, and exponentially expansive, so it takes fewer positively aligned individuals working in harmony to outweigh the discordant energy of millions. The Christmas framing carries the same integrative point: the "Second Coming" is not a single embodiment but the awakening of the Christ consciousness — the collective of all consciousness on the planet — within each being, so that people themselves choose to create heaven on earth. ## Practical implications The transcripts frame the exercise as an attributed group practice with two clearly stated boundaries. First, the practice is a meditation whose effects are described in Bashar's terms (ripples in a shared field, radiated joy, planetary light) and are not presented as a verified physical mechanism or a measurable change to the planet; treat the framing as Bashar's teaching, not as observed fact. Second, no specific worldly outcome — including the timing of open contact, the year of manifestation, or any collective "awakening" schedule — is predicted; Bashar repeatedly stresses that the only variable is each individual's willingness to be the vibration they prefer in the present moment. Within those boundaries the practical guidance the sessions offer is straightforward. Approach the technique as an act of joy rather than duty: put every sense into the image (smell, taste, feeling, sight, hearing), build the ecstasy beyond what you think you can tolerate, and then cut the image dead rather than letting it fade. Use your own imagination to alter the suggestive lines — there is no single right way, and "your way will be the correct way."
