# The Golden Gate

Bashar's image for the self as a two-way valve, doorway, and gate between non-physical awareness and physical reality. The teaching reframes channeling itself: you are all channels all the time, because you take the idea that you are as a non-physical consciousness and constantly channel it into physical reality through the prism of the persona. The "golden gate" opens by recognizing that this flow goes in both directions — the golden fluid of creation crystallizes into physical experience, and physical experience also flows back through the gate into the non-physical to be reformed.

## The golden fluid and the prism of the persona

On one side of the gate is the golden fluid — Bashar's analogical name for the primary energy out of which all matter of physical reality is created. When you funnel that fluid of non-physical awareness through the prism of your physical identity, your persona, it crystallizes, solidifies as the day-to-day physical reality you experience. Physical reality, in this image, is crystallized golden fluid — and the crystallization takes its form from the template held in the persona.

## The two-way valve

What makes the gate a gate rather than a one-way pipe is that the flow also reverses: physical reality constantly returns through the gate into the non-physical. So the gate is always coming and going — becoming fluid, crystallizing, melting down, becoming fluid again, back and forth through the valve you are. Bashar is precise that the gate is bipolar, and bipolar in an opposite way to the materials it organizes: crystallized on the side facing the fluid, fluid on the side facing crystalline reality. This opposite polarity is what lets the gate function as the softening interface — water wearing down rock — that can always flow in and around and over and under and through what you have made.

## Changing a reality you do not prefer

The practical heart of the teaching is its instruction for transforming an unwanted reality. A reality you do not prefer is not transformed by running from it or denying that you created it — denial leaves the crystallization exactly where it is and actually deepens it, making it colder, denser, more calcified, set in stone. Instead, you take the unwanted crystallization back within you, into the crucible of the gate you are, so it can melt down once again into the molten golden fluid out of which you can recrystallize it along a new template held in your imagination.

The warmth that does the melting is specifically the warmth of unconditional love at your center: once you accept any situation you have crystallized back into your heart, the warmth of the vibration of the unconditional love in your center melts crystalline reality and turns it back into the molten golden fluid out of which you can create any reality.

## Willingness keeps reality plastic

A consequence spelled out in the same teaching is that the speed of your willingness to re-adopt each crystallization determines how plastic your reality stays. When you are always willing to re-adopt any crystallization quickly and fluidly, it remains in a highly plastic, highly fluid state, and is therefore not difficult to transform into something you prefer. When you refuse to take a crystalline substance back within you, you create it to remain where you do not wish it to be; you let it stay in physical reality long enough to solidify into steel, into cement.

## Neutrality is the doorway, not the destination

A later exchange in the same session sharpens the practice. Allowing a situation to be neutral does not mean leaving it neutral: neutrality is the doorway through which you inject your preferred meaning. Once the situation adopts a neutral format, you inject whatever meaning you prefer into it, which Bashar calls simply loving it and allowing yourself to extract positive manifestation from it rather than negative because you choose to fear it. Working from automatic trust, you do not need to linger in neutral at all — you automatically assume that everything is positive and worth loving.

## Practical implications

Treat an unwanted reality as your crystallization, not as an outside intruder. The first move is to accept that you created it; only that acceptance lets it melt back into fluid you can recast. Denial calcifies; acknowledgment keeps reality workable.

Bring the unwanted situation into the warmth of unconditional love at your center. The teaching's specific mechanism for melting crystallized reality is not effort but the warmth of unconditional love — the situation taken back into the heart rather than resisted.

Re-adopt each crystallization quickly. The faster you are willing to take a situation back in, the more plastic it stays; the longer it sits unclaimed in physical reality, the more it sets like cement. Willingness, not force, is what keeps reality fluid.

Use neutrality as a doorway, not a stopping point. Let a situation become neutral, then inject the meaning you prefer rather than assuming it arrives with a built-in meaning. From automatic trust, you can skip the neutral pause altogether and assume everything is positive and worth loving.

Stay at the softening interface. The gate is fluid on the side facing crystalline reality — like water wearing down rock — so flowing in and around what you have made is the posture that keeps the gate open.

## Representative passages

You are a gate. You are a valve. You are a doorway. On one side of the gate that you are exists an infinite amount of golden fluid — the representational idea of the primary energy out of which all matter of physical reality is created, is crystallized. When you funnel that golden fluid of non-physical awareness through the gate of your physical identity, your physical persona, that golden fluid crystallizes, solidifies as the physical reality you experience.— Bashar, The Golden Gate (the-golden-gate#qa-1)

The way to allow that to transform is not to deny that that is your creation, not to run from that crystallized reality, but to take it back within the crucible that you are so it can melt down once again and then give you the material to work with so you can reform it, so you can pass it through the gate that you are one more time and allow it to crystallize upon the template you now set for it within your imagination.— Bashar, The Golden Gate (the-golden-gate#qa-2)

Once you accept any situation that you have crystallized in physical terms back into your heart, the warmth of the vibration of the unconditional love in your center is what melts crystalline reality and turns it back into the molten golden fluid out of which you can create any reality.— Bashar, The Golden Gate (the-golden-gate#qa-2)

When you are working from automatic trust, you do not need to hang around in neutral. You simply automatically assume that everything is positive and worth loving.— Bashar, The Golden Gate (the-golden-gate#qa-5)
